Video clips featuring you and your Laverda

I was just thinking ( nothing better to do ) ...... There are plenty of postings on You Tube featuring Laverdas , some of them just ticking over on someone`s driveway ...... but there are some very good ones ( laverdadel springs to mind ) featuring trackdays and circuit riding ......... but ....... there`s not much featuring everyday road riding ( If you`re a Ducati owner , 996 Rider on You Tube is the sort of thing I`m on about ..... ) ....

It would be nice to see someone piloting their SF or 3C or whatever through the city traffic , or rumbling along their favourite piece of road , or just on the way to the shops , local pub , dogging spot ........... whichever takes your fancy ........

Don`t get carried away and incriminate yourself mind , ( the speedo`s in kph , officer ) ....... just a recording of enjoyable everyday riding on your favourite motorcycle ......

To this end , I enclose a brief clip of part of a trip into Bristol ( not on a Laverda regretfully ) to pick up some inkjet cartridges ( any oid excuse ) ....... Pretty mundane sort of stuff , but you get the general idea ........

Playback may be crap and stuttery , and sound out of synch ( PC`s getting on a bit ) .... but if you do something similar riding your Laverda , it would be interesting to see it ...........

I know , I know ......... tried to attach it , but it says file too large ....... and I can`t delete the bloody thing now ....... So just ignore the bit about my clip ...... until I can figure out a way of including it ..... I`ve never seen a personal video clip like this being included on a post before .... can it be done without the server saying it`s too large ? .......

If anyone knows how , and can post their stuff in the meantime , it would still be nice to see it ...........

Tried trimming it back from 8 back to 4 minutes , went to attach file .... it started to download it , but at the end still says it`s too large ..... If I trim it down anymore it won`t be worth watching ( if it ever was in the first place ) ........ Tried Insert Video , but that just tells me that it ran into some problems ...... ( I know the feeling ..... ) .....

I guess the answer is post your film on Utube and paste a link into the forum??
I’ve managed to upload short video up to around 25MB but that is just a few seconds of video.
 
The video attachment limit is 80mb, enough for a minute in HD. As ever, it's a balance between server disk space and cost.

If you're planning on making a big video or using super high quality then YouTube is place to go. You can easily link to it from here.

Also the video should be attached as such using the menu icon , not an attachment. That way folk don't need to download it to view.
 

Yes I managed it ........ thanks Andy J and Rob ......... Took the video recorded from a GoPro , signed into You Tube , went into You Tube Studio / Manage Videos ...... just followed the instructions ( It took about 100 minutes to upload and process this eight minute clip , but you can always do or watch something else while you`re waiting ) ..... Once it`s on YouTube , I share and copy to Clipboard , then access Clipboard via Settings ( this is Windows 10 ) ..... then press Windows key plus V to bring video up ........ Then once you`re in Laverda Forum you can post by using Windows Key plus V to bring the video up again , and then Post Reply ......... At least that`s the way I`ve done it ......

The content of this video isn`t important ( although you can spot the topical 20 mph signs which everyone ignores ) ....... It is just a test to see if it could be done ....

As I mentioned earlier , there`s lots of posts on YouTube featuring Laverda track days , which are great ...... but not much just featuring everyday riding ....... So maybe if you can , if you have a GoPro or something similar ........ Then post a clip of you riding your Laverda to wherever takes your fancy .... shopping ..... trips to the beach .... whatever ....... Probably best to keep to speed limits ( more or less ) if you`re going to make it a public video ........ It would be interesting to see them .......

Damn ....... It worked fine when I tried it last night ........ bear with me ........ I selected private as opposed to public to limit it`s viewing potential ....... I will try again making it public this time ........

Just done that .... we will see if it stays there now .......

It works. Very different city riding to what I experience here in Melbourne. Where is the camera mounted? Makes it seem as if you're constantly riding over speed humps! No doubt there are a few tricks to get good copy without wind noise and vibration. A friend is going to lend me a GoPro to have a play with on the Q.
 

Think I`ve got the hang of it now ...... Looks like public is the way to go when uploading it to YouTube Studio .... I thought private would limit it to me and anyone I shared it with ( this Forum ) ........ and no one else ...... didn`t quite work out ......

A couple of things I`ve learnt ( I try to get there in the end ) ........ A GoPro video when imported to Windows Photos may be 40 minutes long ..... but Photos breaks it up into eight minute chunks .... There is almost certainly a way to edit the whole thing back together again ....... but even the eight minute chunks can take up to two hours to upload to YouTube Studio .......... Not quite as bad as it seems , because you can just let it get on with it , and go away and do something else ........ These I did at four in the morning , so I just went to bed for a couple of hours until it was done ......

I`m just posting another clip from earlier on in the same trip , just to make sure it still works ( the novelty hasn`t worn off yet ) .......

It would have been nice if I could have done this when I still had the Mirage .... too late now ......

The whole point of this ( there is one ) is as I mentioned earlier .......... It would be interesting if others could post video clips of their Laverda experiences ....... not just the odd little trip , but you could also include clips featuring any mods you have done , your favourite maintenance routine , or just explaining what it is you like about your chosen method of transport ......... We might also get a chance to see what you look ( and sound ) like ! ........

This is the reason I went private to start with ....... so that these little clips could remain within the realms of this forum , rather being visible to every Tom , Dick , and Harry ........ As you can see it didn`t work ....... But you could always give your clip some obscure title so that it remains relatively hidden within YouTube ........

So there you are .... no more non Laverda related clips from me ....... but if anyone can have a go ........ seriously , it would be nice to see them ........

Probably is a way to eliminate wind noise ...... I`m not that expert yet !

Camera is a GoPro Hero 7 Black ........ A factory refurbished one which cost £200 three years ago .... New ones were £380 .......They are on Hero 12`s now I think ....... No idea off hand how much they are now .......

Constant speed humps are just poorly repaired roads .... not as bad as it may look ......

All the gear, no idea. He lost his camera, THE END. On second thoughts that's a bit harsh, but trying a heavyweight bike on deep sand with zero previous experience and that's the inedable result. BTW he was running blacktop tyre pressures. That concerning coolant issues was a simple overheat and it boiled.

Yeah here is an old, old video from YouTube, back when video recorders were as big as shoe boxes. Initially, I tried taping the camera to my helmet but once I was riding I couldn't hold my head up in the wind. Finally taped it to the left side of the bars, hi-tech duct tape.
I was recently talking to Motodd Rob who also knows this road and we both agreed it is time for a modern digital upgrade, the original video was recorded onto tape and then converted to digital. I did post this video here many years ago, apologize for the redundancy and poor video quality and soundtrack. Stay tuned for an upcoming digital ride up the mountain.

That`s great stuff .... I think I remember seeing this from a few years ago ........ those curves seem to go on forever ..... I like how the driver at 11:15 waved you by !

So much for Tail Of the Dragon, that's way better. Nice wide lanes with great sight lines through the linked corners.Fantastic bit of road. Add potholes and Craters that swallow semi-trailers and it's a big improvement from yesterday's ride from Tarina to Hill End, that was really great as well, but I'm sore as hell from the big bumps.
