Water proof luggage

Use my Mosko Moto panniers on my ‘bush bike’, actually so waterproof, it keeps my big red pig from sinking during river crossing.

+1 for andy straps. cut the tops of 2 20L water bottles and they slide into the bags. Ridgidity as well as good waterproofing after rolling the ends of the bags down and strapping them up. Very durable, had mine +10 years.

agree with Paul and others use internal plastic bags, my favorite is carrier bags from ladies outfit shops, they tend to be big and wide and quite durable, bin bags do rip easily if you are not very careful, load you bags, roll the top up tight and then place them in the bike luggage with the rolled top at the bottom, if you get my drift.

OXFORD BAGS
I had an Oxford magnetic tank bag for years and into decades and the top zip broke, it had a lifetime guarantee so I claimed, no dramas, they sent me a brand new one, which was a different pattern, which I initially disliked, but now love, it is expandable, has a removable bum bag, and two side pockets, when off the tank, there are two straps for rucksack style use, and it too,is guaranteed for life, although I am not sure if you can claim more than once, but for now it is superb, the replacement was about five years ago.
CLEM

Oxford soft pannier bags work well for me never had a problem with water leaking in. Come with internal plastic bags which I've never used.

Cost several years ago was around $100.

I've got Oxford panniers and magnetic tank bag that I use on the Jota and other bikes with a steel tank (both my Benellis have plastic tanks that the magnets don't stick to quite as well). Sounds like the same tank bag that Clem described. I'm impressed with the quality and well thought out design. The magnets have never come un-stuck during use, but it has a safety strap that goes around the steering head anyway.

I've had them for at least 10 years because I remember using them for the trip to Eastern Creek for the 2011 Festival of Speed. They're still perfectly good today. No zip or other problems.

I have been using my Eclipse saddlebags for well over 30 years and so far, haha, they are holding up well. Once you secure them to the bike they don't move an inch, they have a metal (aluminum)plate reinforcement on the bike side of the bag to which I riveted a homemade metal hanger the bags simply lift off in seconds after unbuckling 2 security straps. I had an Eclipse tank bag but the zipper gave up, now I have a magnetic mount MotoCentric tank bag, rock-solid so far. Eclipse has a website their prices are very cheap, maybe it's an old site.

Ha Dave they look pretty close to the muffler, used to read about bags catching fire. They must be clear but the pic doesn't show it. Love the idea of the alloy plate, I am always doing similar, nothing stays standard with me very long.

Just over 40 years ago riding a z650 with a Marshall 4 into 1 with the girlfriend (now wife) on the back on a French motorway. I had brilliantly packed our small camping gas cylinder in the leather throw- over which was bobbing about just above the exhaust outlet. Sounded just like a loud back-fire to me. Being on the back my girlfriend knew different .
