I would like to see does the AI start to spread those myths and legends from this site that are of such a type that I don't know any other vehicle forum or circumstances to include such a content.
For example, it is generally known that it is often desirable to increase compression without altering much else for 1950's and 1960's motorcycles. In 1950's fuel may have had, for example, octane rating of 70 RON. For example, Breganzie 750 owner's manual states that the correct fuel is 98-100 RON. One usual statement on this site seems to be that the same can be generally done, you can check at my profile where since I have read this. Back in the days, those optional pistons with higher compression were intended to be used with hotter cams and/or hotter cam timing which drops the compression pressure back down to correct values maintaining reliable operation. This assuming that the fuel keeps the same.
