We haven't had a drugs thread for ages, apart from Viagra, blood pressure, coronary, cholesterol, arthritis meds and diets.

Paul, you're forgetting chloroquine. CDC just released a report today saying that over 1/3 of all Americans had tried using household cleaning products prophylactically to prevent (or maybe cure, they were a bit hazy about just what they were expecting) the bug. Things like gargling with bleach or washing food with Lysol.
So when does a disinfectant start to be a drug, if tens of millions of people think that ingesting it will cure/prevent/immunize against disease (despite lack of any real evidence that it does anything aside from getting you sick)?

What this Covid thing has revealed above all is the extremely primitive mental functioning of a huge proportion of people in what we regard as civilised countries.
And as my wife says: "and they vote".

Maybe we should stick to sex?

Not a huge percentage in the US if I'm right. We have compulsory voting in Australia, and I reckon it's great. Anyone who whinges about the state of their nation, then says they don't vote because politics is bullshit, gets everything they deserve in my op. System will never be perfect but not voting will be as effective as drinking laundry detergent to vaccinate against Covid-19.
 
It never ceases to amaze me when I hear people in the US proudly boasting that they never vote. It's sometimes followed up by "My vote doesn't count anyway" or similar. I've even heard a few times "I don't want the government to know that much about me". The concept of a citizen's duty to participate in government is very weak here. I wonder how much it was debated when the constitution was being written? And the need to change the definition of a voter when millions of freed slaves were made citizens overnight, then tens of millions of women?
Donald Trump has actually caused millions of Americans who never used to vote to at least vote, mostly for him. And he still lost the election by well over two million popular votes, but won fairly because of the Electoral College. This is democracy at work, even though a lot of people don't like it.
But the Australian "compulsory" system also has a lot of problems, preferential voting for one, the unbelievably complicated ballots for some elections for another. And the donkey vote. It's hard to be sure but I wonder just how representative of actual popular opinion Australian votes are, given the number of ways a voter's ballot can end up being invalidated or diluted.
And Australians don't get to vote for their head of government.

In Florida there was a referendum about allowing felons who had served their sentences being allowed to start voting again. It was passed overwhelmingly by a huge majority of voters. But before anyone was actually able to vote, the state government announced that the referendum result would only apply to felons who had completed their prison sentences AND paid all fines, court costs, judgements, or any other miscellaneous expenses associated with their criminal activity. This was not mentioned in the wording of the referendum.
And I have to admit, allowing people to move on with their lives after having made a mistake and been punished for it does sort of include an implication that the loose ends should be tied up. The problem is that the accumulated charges are often in the hundreds of thousands. But even if they're less than that, the State is unable and apparently unwilling to determine what the actual charges are for most of these people, so they're still not allowed to vote because they owe an unspecified amount of money and cannot find out how much. And nobody in the state government is doing anything about it. Florida is a critical state in Federal elections and there's several hundred thousand potential voters who will not be able to vote in November, easily enough to turn the vote one way or the other.
As I mentioned, this is democracy in action, warts and all.

Been using 3 parts Tequila, 2 parts Triplesec and 1 part lime juice. Sometimes with a bit of Grand Marnier.

Try using mexcal instead of tequila and blood orange in equal parts with the lime. Rim the glass with chipotle salt.
