West Oz Owners

Thanks all and especially Rob for getting it off the ground. A couple of nice rides and good to put faces to forum names. The nice policeman on Brookton Hwy just grimaced as we passed in opposite directions with me sitting on 125. Would have been much worse if we had met 2 minutes earlier. :cool:
I lost the Mad Devil on Tincurrin Rd. He sent a photo of his bike sitting on a salt flat among the dead trees. Glad I lost him.
 
What a great night, had a ball. Fantastic ride there and back, the Motodd performed perfectly even starting in the morning after a cold night.
Good to meet up with Davo again after 10 years or so. Also good to put faces to names, Rob7, Crazy Devil, Wowshie who I had met before in Freo when Red and Maxene visited. Crew I do know, from the Devil's Undies crowd, Chris and CapnM, but had never seen his SFC before. Neville on his SF3 with spoke ducati hubs. Couple of ex Lav owners and Clarkie on his Laverda badged GSX1400 sidecar who reckons he'll turn up next year on his 3c sidecar. So 6 Laverdas in all, another 4 that I know of cancelled at the last minute. So for a first time gathering not too bad.
The Dumbleyung pub is a great venue with a fire pit out the back to sit around and talk bullshit. The Publican is cool.
Probably drank too much as I woke up feeling a little howdy doody and took the direct route home feeling slightly brain dead. For me it was about 750 kays round trip.
Hopefully do it again next year and maybe have way more Laves turn up. You got a year Davo!!!
For those who don't know Dumbleyung has a large lake that Sir Donald Campbell broke the world water speed record on back in the early 60s.

Really enjoyed reading the banter between you Sandgropers, that's the way I like it, nobody taking themselves too seriously but getting the job done. Would have been a blast, wish I could have been there.👍

He did a Land Speed record about then on Lake Eyre as well, I remember freezing my arse off getting dressed for school in front of the electric radiator, I was 7 years old and it was announced on the radio. I couldn't get my head around 403.1mph.
 
Groovy weekend in Dumble, Rob. Good on your suggesting and motivating your Sangroper mob. Didn't Sir Donald also die on Dumbleyung? The blurry footage of the crash, the boat flipping is horrendous.
 
Yes great weekend with plenty of input from many to put it together.

Another one, it used to be 3Cs popping up a lot. Now it's 120 Jotas in Oz, it must be close to double digits from the original 6 imported back in the day. I really like Chris Pritt's new one brought from WA, really pretty smoke red paint job.
