I had a drunk lady step out in front of me once. I dodged, she dodged. I didged, she didged. So I dodgy-didgy-dodged, that foxed her and I managed to get round her, except I hooked her handbag strap on my handlebar and over I went…
I was a teenager then. Nowadays I would’ve just slowed down a bit. Too easy.
Arrrgh she’d spent it all on piss. How much handbag $ did you score?
Did that on my zX7, biggest tank slapper I’ve experienced at 160kph +…. I’m talking rear tyre screaching as it bit from side to side. Just when I thought I was off, and over the bars, my arse was katipultede off the seat….., tank slapper stopped. Here’s another one: I got into a tank slapper once through a fast curve that went over a slight rise. The bars were wobbling bad enough that I couldn’t see where I was going, but it wasn’t getting worse or better. I had to do something so I stabbed the back brakes, reasoning that it might straighten everything up. That fixed it but I suspect it was more the reduction in speed that fixed it, rather than my theory in the heat of the moment, or possibly a transfer of weight to the front.
I’d be interested in the opinions of the experts though!
