What did you do to or for or with your Laverda today?

Send it to Australia, we need to update our Air Forces fleet of biplane fighters.

Or park it up as a display inside a fence…. oh, that’s right 🙄
Which country doesn't?

Shit's about to hit the fan big-time pretty soon, too many egomaniacs in the playground atm.

Our Harriers were so outdated the Yanks bought them! 🙄 I grew up near RAF Uxbridge that had a Spitfire outside, we were always told it was made up from bits and not a real one. In the ‘90’s someone had a good look at it and turns out it was about 90% original and they promptly swapped it for a fibreglass replica and restored the old one. I went down into the underground war rooms that are there, exactly as they left them back in the ‘40’s

The Tanks wanted an uprated Harrier that was Supersonic, that's why they have a F35 version with vertical takeoff. And guess who else has them on their 2 carriers? Coal to Newcastle.

Picked Daughter up from Yeovilton ( she wanted to go on the bike!) set off at 7am, freezing bloody cold foggy.
“ Youll have to up over the moor the roads closed..” says the wife. Bit of wheel spin going up Raleigh’s didn’t inspire me, roads frosty and covered in mud. 95 mile round trip and back for 10…must wear full face lid next time! Shame the Jump jet is just sat there doing nothing, probably as old as my Lav!
Me Mam was stationed at Yeovilton in the Fleet Air Arm in the early 50’s. Think there were Bucaneers then. 🙂👍

I’ve got an old friend that worked on Harriers making/repairing the carbon fibre parts.
However, we digress.
I’ve been assisting one of my Viking chums to replace, what I think is an ignitech type ignition, with a Sasche system on his 500 twin as he has that type on his other bikes.
If anyone is interested in the ‘old’ system let me know.
(Send me a pm and I will try to send photo as I’m currently having difficulty uploading photos for some reason.)

Started looking at carbs on the SF1 motor in GTL body. Looks like the carbs and fitment are the bastard offspring of indeterminate parentage. Can see there’s going to be some fun sorting it. So I removed the dynamo and set about cleaning it, nothing like a bit of shiny alloy mindfulness.

Today I mounted the engine back in place after getting new pistons and a valve job- thanks to all the great and helpful Forum members for their help sorting out my saga- I've learned a lot!

Good to see it back in the frame - hoping it scares the merde out of you with the increased performance! And I hope you're planning to rotate that left footpeg rearward a bit, Ted?

IMG_6925.jpegHi all! Since Breganze last year I have made some upgrades to the big triple. Like some of you already know, the 1200 will be converted to an endurance racer. The idea is to do it in steps. I want to keep the bike running as much as possible.

The few things I did so far; changed the Marzocchi forks for an overhauled set of Ceriani’s with BMW 4 pot calipers. Installed the Redax hydraulic clutch. New set of master cylinders. SFC clip-ons. Magura quick throttle with oxford heated grips😋 And some small bits and pieces here and there.

I’m thinking of keeping you all updated about the build/converting, but I’m kind of new with the forum so I will try at least.

Today was a good day for a ride with my father with his SF3.

Herman
