What did you do to or for or with your Laverda today?

The former, this gusset is like 40 grit sandpaper. Its around 5mm wide and does a great job at removing skin.

Hopefully you can modify it to get it right.  Suggest that you could supply feedback to manufacturer to help them improve product.  That would not be comfortable on any day, let alone a four day rally.

Yogi it's good gear but not perfect, but this is one of LOTS of posts about this gear on this site. Its extremely controversial and the owner is sensitive to complains so not much point. I will sow something over it,done LOTS of mods since I bought it.I was 100% going Ozzie Tiger Angle but I wanted venting but before I could order Tiger Angle stopped making there custom made Gore Tex Synthetic Gear. They only do there waterproof Leather gear at BIG money and its to hot price wise and weather wise for me.

I have a similar problem with my bloody expensive Rukka but it is the velcro tab on the neck band that rubs if you get it joined wrong. I pinched one of these of Her Indoors and it works a treat. Helps keep the neck warm on freezing days as well. Wear it around the neck and not on the head, obviously.

Interesting, the other issue I had was I have custom ear mold ear plugs with wired sound connections, if I got the wire placement wrong when turning my head to check the blind spot the wire would pull the ear plug out.So I was experimenting and after a while found the way to route it. BTW I absolutely love my new helmet, super comfortable and quite. Bloody expensive but easily the best helmet I have ever used.

Davo, that is starting to look a little bit Hipster mate - don't let Legs find out about that, or he'll be organising a posse to head West and bring you back to Adelaide.

Are you 100% sure that you have never worn it on your head with a muscle T shirt?  Jerry Garcia meets Axel Rose..

OK. Fair cop

They are available in other colours. I just pinched what was available for free to me.

We call them neck warmers. Often desirable to keep warm when riding around in Tassie winter weather. I have a couple but you wouldn't want to wear one in hot weather.

Maybe you could avoid neck chafe by just tying a handkerchief or bandana around your neck. Just like blokes wear in cowboy movies. In that case, a Colt Peacemaker revolver would be the appropriate accessory to go with it.

Why not go the whole hog and wear a silk flying scarf just like Snoopy, would go well with the Halcyon goggles :D.
By the way; all hipsters must hang ;).

If only we can get the hipsters to wear longer scarves like Isadora Duncan tried whilst driving, we may have a natural solution..

The easiest fix is a ribbon of some kind of softer material, silk would be great capped over the neck section. This jacket has 2 inners, a wind and waterproof one, the mesh outer shell and the winter one. The later is the only one without a soft smooth facing.Maybe they thought in winter you would have something else between it and your skin. Its a good jacket but perfection and a 4 season ability still hasn't happened.

Long scarfs just dont kill onganoos, one almost killed my Pantah. The second owner liked to wear them in cold weather and he had one in a half opened backpack, it trailed down into the chain and got caught and cracked the engine case around the countershaft sprocket. He got it welded and it lasted 15 years till it recently gave out on a club ride with me on it. The repair required a replacement second hand set of cases at again eye watering money.Avoid long scarfs unless you have a death wish or plenty of cash.

They are not actually too bad in hot weather. Mind you, in summer I usually wear my Ricondi leather if it is temperate or the Cortech which has full air flow if it is the usual Perth stinking fucking hot.

WOW, I just received an email from asking what they could do to fix my jacket issue.Either someone here linked to them the thread or there is a Laverda fan who works there, thats some customer service. I probably pumped this issue up a bit as they do come close to being the best option for bike gear I have found.I asked of a 1st class return air fare to Cal to fix it but I dont expect that will happen. Bloody internet strikes again

Blimey, I just broke a 5mm Allen key trying to remove a seized bolt. That's never happened to me before. It snapped at the 90? bend.

I would've thought the hex socket in the bolt head would strip before the key broke, which wouldn't have bothered me as I have plenty of spare bolts. It wasn't a cheap nasty key either. It was one from my "good" expensive set. Bugger!

It was a stupid mongrel bloody bolt anyway. M8 thread with a pissy little 5mm hex socket. Gawd knows where it came from. Eventually got it out by cutting a slot in the head and using an impact screwdriver. I should've done that in the first place.
