Wilbers Shocks

I was there that day in June, and oh my God what a great day it was, I am even in the book, a pictorial by Peter Birch, a book that is now worth more than ten first editions of the green book all signed by a different factory big wig, but they spelled my bleeding name wrong,
it is GRAHAM CLEMANS not GRAHAM CLEMSON, Goddammit"! SMBH always me hero, still is

Pete Davies (aka PK) had the rest of his life ruined because of a failed frame with standard brakes, at the Isle of man so you could be the next?  and judging by your riding skills and shared surname you might even be related! So don't give me that modified is crap, standard frame and standard brakes can still kill you. Every time I rode TOG for the last 39 years I have relied on my own welding skills, because I have only ever ridden the bike, excepting the first year with my own fabricated handle bars, the current set now 18 months old and finally finished, just waiting a mate to turn me up a pair of custom bar ends to trim them.

I think the failed frame was built by Paul Pinfold, thin wall steel .

are you sure, Isle of man TT production class? i.e pretty much stock excepting for stand, indicator removals, exhaust height  etc etc

'Proof positive', Mr. Clemson  :D.

2 Laverdas made the start, I note.  Both reported as 'smoking from the exhaust' fairly early on ... Which probably explains why both are marked as 'Retired' in the official IOM records  :'(.

Fairly convinced Paul Pinfold never made a Laverda frame. He was renting space in my factory at the time and was flitting from project to project like a demented cabbage white butterfly. He made a couple of TZ Yam frames loosely based on the Rob North cradle type (he used to work at Rob's). One of those actually led the 250GP at Donington, albeit briefly, in the hands of Tony Head. The other competed in the 1979 TT ridden by Les Burgan. He had a hand in the Strongbow Triumphs which competed at the Hereford GP flat track event. He also built his own road race sidecar using a TZ750 motor, sadly never finished. Cropredy Motorcycles lent him a triple motor to build a grass track sidecar, never even started that. Armstrong commissioned him to build six rolling chassis for their rotax engined racers and halfway through that he buggered off to Australia to race sidecar speedway without even sweeping up. A very talented lad, sadly no longer with us. Clem, I was watching Mike at the Creg on that fantastic day in 1978. Grown men crying with happiness all over the Island that night. Still defies belief 42yrs later.

I had a rotax frame by Paul Pinfold, bent it in two at Kerroomoar....... Dont think it was the frames fault.... just a bit too enthusiastic I think..... free flight in a helicopter though....  ;)

I was watching SMBH at the entrance to the bridge just before Ginger Hall, Goddammit I cant recall the name, and later in the week SMBH came to the ILOC pub meet at the Ballacraine hotel, and the ILOC officials said that he cant sign the book because he is not a member (I joke not) he was a bit taken with my wife the late Andrea and loved her outfit and riding of her 400/4 bloody good little bike is that he said, pointing out that he'd have one but for the fact he is too lanky to get comfortable on it.

what's that bridge
what's that bridge
no I'm not going to look at a map

Since noone commented about my post re making a movie aout Mick and the TT return I thought I would expand. Seems Eric Bana is doing just that in Worlds Fastest Indian style. When he first mades some money he was sponcering a mate in the local superbikes on a Ducati. He has a huge interst in the racing world, check out this.

I knew it was the Sulby river that was near Ginger hall, but wasn't sure whether the bridge was named after the river. Many bridges are named after the road, the town, a feature of the bridge itself or maybe a local person.
