my savourite Honda (as Cam D) is the 250 or 297 Honda sixes, the 297 being competitive and a race winner in the 350 class when it was designed as a 250 and dominated that class plus the 350's, very impressive, Goerge Beal made six replicas (circa 100K) with Hondas blessing and they loaned him an original plus bought one of the reps! hows that for provrenance! there is an original six out there somewhere, Rodney Gould Partnered SMBH is a bike shop and following SMBH's demise he sold Hailwoods six for £15,000, he did time for exportation fraud on that one, but the bike has never been seen since, I hope to high heaven that it still exists, it would be worth 150 grand, probably more, but oh! what a desirable thing to play with.
My second favourite Honda is my Pan Eueopean 1100, no ABS, bomb proof bike if fitted with a stainless exhaust, remove and service the alternator occassioally, and you unbolt the fuel tank, deal with water retention under it, and then it will last a lifetime, massive fuel tank, shaft drive, excellent lighting (realy execellent) very effective streamlining, very slow tyre wear (ironicaly for a heavy old pig) super comfort, massive load carrying ability, 350mile without stops and more, who needs a ten grand or fifteen grand Bike Made Weedilly.
Oh yeah I like the cub, but I own a Yamaha Townmate 80cc, 4 not 3 gears, shaft not chain drive and electric start not kick, a vastly superior moped than the Honda and about one third the price like for like, plus the Townmate is more economical.
