music in the shed

'nough of the mushy stuff, back to shed tunes.....
As a fellow Zappa fan please give this a listen. Obviously I don't know if you've heard it before, but if not, it's blast !! And I'm not one for Zappa covers, but this almost 10 minute effort from Blood Diaper doing an Apostrohpe death metal medley is a cracker !! So get down with your bad self & do the funky Alfonso !! ( Track takes about 20 seconds to start )

Kinda reminds me of something Captain Beefheart would have done if he was still alive.

I partied with Deb Conway once a long time ago when we were both a lot younger. It was in the mid 1980's. I'd have been in my early 30's and she in her late 20's. She was doing a solo gig at the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Hobart (pub no longer exists). She would have been in the band "Do Re Mi" at the time who'd just had a hit with "Man Overboard" so her career was taking off, which was probably the reason I went to the gig in the first place. When another band came on after her set, she came over to the bar and started chatting to me, much to my surprise. I dunno why she picked me out of all the better looking blokes in the bar. Maybe my slightly unkempt appearance and beat-up leather bike jacket appealed to her. Anyway, we seemed to get on pretty well, had a few dances and drinks together. I thought I might be going to get lucky that night, but alas, when the music acts wrapped up at around midnight she kissed me goodnight and disappeared, never to be heard from again.
Muso lament Cam, full blown stage performance, much punter hooting on the dance floor, 2 hours later... ( all ) alone in the room, no wonder muso's turn to all sorts of "retreat" remedies. Still, you have the memory, short lived what might have been, a smile here. j

Motown`s first stab at " disco" ......... ( Shortened radio play version ) .......

Resulting in a sizzling hi-hat ...... and ( wait for it ) one of the most bad-ass riffs known to man / woman / child / perhaps you`d rather not say ..........
