Well done Vince, many the show and theory on "show", pun intended. Had the pleasure of being in the room with the biggest Tesla Coil that i knew of in the mid 1980's, assembled by a Uni lecturer at Wollongong University.

Fabricated out of domestic plastic garbage bin, PVC drain pipe et al. Variac input supply, huge HV disk capacitor and wire. While no big deal in of itself compared to video's ( online ) there was no omnipresent "save you from yourself" overbearing nanny mantra, we stood in the room with all the usual party tricks a Tesla coil can invoke. Managed to speak with the lecture and his undergraduate students on the machine operation.

The ripping apart of air molecules was extremely loud, Ozone the likes rarely found in anything but special test cells for EHV transmission ( also was able to witness in my younger days ). High potential ( pun..yes i know, tragic ) of self destruction for the 'gong uni machine, which it did. Moving energy from one place to another has peril.

The coil modulation in the clip Vince was well done and demanding on design and application, though modern electronics is a long way from when i started. Tah, j.
