music in the shed

Things are not that simple, particularly regarding the Catholic Church during the period referenced by this T-shirt.
I appreciate there are nuances, especially as the Catholic Church during WW2 saved Jewish lives, but the Killing Joke T-shirt image refers to the Pro-Nazi "German Christians" (Deutsche Christen), which was a powerful movement within the Protestant church called the Deutsche Christen actively embraced Nazi racial, nationalistic, and anti-Semitic ideology.

Ask your countrymen, in the Languedoc, about Pope Innocent (perhaps the least accurately titled pope in history) and the slaughters caused by the roman catholic church?
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose,

This came up on a compilation CD I found was hidden in the CD autochanger...it must have been in there for years. A bit more of George Thorogood, and a stonking track..I heard him play this live at the Shepherds Bush Empire back in June 2013, the one, and only, gig I went to with my older brother, who died the following year.

George’s band was originally called the Delaware Destroyers and since I grew up there he has always been a local favorite. In fact, they played at the wedding party for the sister of my best friend as a favor. The credits on his first record, IIRC, listed my local weed distributor!

In my opinion, passing judgment on such ancient events—where the values involved are so far removed from our own—inevitably yields results based on emotion rather than reason.
All authorities engage in repression, whether religious or secular, driven either by conviction or by the desire to retain power.
The democratic illusion.
Interpretations are shaped by political interests; for instance, regarding the Spanish Civil War, the narrative in France portrays the Republicans as the "good guys" and the Nationalists as the "bad guys"—yet the "good guys" committed just as many massacres as the "bad guys," even slaughtering their own early allies, the anarchists.
But they are the "good guys" nonetheless...
On the other hand, there was no quarter for those wretched English; for them, it was the sword or the purifying stake.

Follow that sock.... always a fav here, MCC, seek a gal to sing this song out here, bass line is supportive of the nice guitar licks.

A song by The Fall.
Taken from a play written by Mark E Smith.

It concerns the sudden and untimely passing of one Albino Luciani in 1978.
A man better known as Pope John Paul 1.

All sorts of conspiracy theories surrounded his passing, but, on balance it would appear natural causes were to blame.
If however you think differently, then maybe watch 'The Godfather Part 3' again....

This 'original' version came my way, via a free single given away by UK based 'Sounds' magazine, at the time in early '87.

My reason for uploading this? It caught my ear at the time, and imho, it's a good tune and at least worth a listen if you've not heard it before..
