Bellingen 2022

I reckon least crap wins Vince.
I continually try and pair down.
Last trip to PI had bugger all, one T-shirt one change underpants, pair of long pants and shoes plus toothbrush.
Was gone 4 days

I couldn't find my Occy strap collection in the shed so I went to Super Cheif after calling the local camping shop, seems they only stock high-end gear for Everest attempts. And then I got the opposite comment from the teenager at Super Cheif, whats an Occy strap? I feel old.

I have them, the green 50mm wide ones come in a pack of 2. I always use one around my soft panniers as Insurance and recently with this trip coming up I cut the other strap in 2 and had the local bootmaker add velcro to the cut end so now I have just what I need to hold the dry bag with the sleeping crap on the bike. BUT I still needed 2 occy straps to hold the tent and camping chair on. Those green Andy strap STRAPS are brilliant, I first saw them on Dave Hodgsons SFC on the first Tassie trip. They are a great gadget.

Don't get the idea I don't like suggestions BTW. I love to get helpful info on any subject. Thanks Tom.

Pretty much ready to rumble... just throw a few supplies in the saddlebags and we're off...rga1.JPG
Was giving Dave's dire warnings about topboxes some thought. Two issues I guess... weight, and aerodynamics. I'll only be stowing light stuff in there so it should be ok on that front but I don't know a lot about aero. Then I remembered this kindly old chap from Thiene I bumped into a while back...

and asked him about it. He agreed and said he had recently had the same issue recently with his 'salad box' and solved it no problemo...

Although time was tight, he offered to do some CFD modelling for me and sent me over a design which I 3D printed and installed. It is a revelation, totally stable!

So yeah... basically good to go!
Fortunately it has been raining all day, so surely we must be out of water by now and there won't be any more during the trip!

changed the Diff in our race bike transporter, does that count?
went from 28 spline by 3.0:1 ratio to 31 spline 3.25:1 ratio, only V8 nuts will get that

leaving Friday morning with one race bike, been told we need to stop for a seafood breakfast on the way
sounds like a deal to me
looking forward to a wet weekend

well done ... I did the same to my Holden 'one toner tray back' years ago, was only the 253 (?) small 8 but it made for a very versatile car with good hwy. figures
