Best guesses on RGS "clutch" issue?

Never had a sticky clutch on any of my Laverdas and they can sit for 5 or 6 months and sometimes longer. Now that I said that I bet next spring  mine will be stuck.
 
Does cable tying the clutch lever back to the handle bar prevent the clutch plates from sticking together?
 
It will probably help, but it will also accelerate weakening of the springs as they are being held over long time in highly compressed state.
 
the RGS is back together with new clutch steels from Wolfgang, Red's kevlar clutch plates that I had here "in stock" waiting for a while, new ball bearings for the actuating rods, and a new hydraulic slave cylinder O ring, freshly bled.

not up to a test ride to day, but will try to get the bike out on the weekend. Bike fires up nicely, goes in and out of neutral well, and snaps into gear, so all seems well again.

Paul hope it all works but if you need roadside assistance call Andy...I'm 12 hours away.

Did you ever figure out what could of caused the problem?
