Brembo caliper adapters

Good morning,

for improvement and expansion of the model:
- dimensions of the friction on the pad relative to piston center,
- inner diameter of the useable surface for 280 and 300 rotor, should be ca 200 and 220.

Steph, there are holes for M10 in the legs and M10x1.25 threads in the caliper, or different pitch?

Good morning,

'morning Roland :)

for improvement and expansion of the model:
- dimensions of the friction on the pad relative to piston center,

I don't have spare pads on hand unfortunately.
Will have to dig in my boxes.

.. but
the wear mark (which I have just measured) on the 280mm disc has a height of 38,5mm, centered on diameter 238,75mm.

A = B = ~19mm
A + B = ~38mm = ~piston diameter

- inner diameter of the useable surface for 280 and 300 rotor, should be ca 200 and 220.
280 -> ID 201,5
300 -> ID 214

That's correct Roland.
Threads in the caliper.

very good!

not relevant for the job, but nice to have:
- centre distance of the legs,
- width of both rotors on wheel, thickness of rotor,
-depth from caliper mounting surface to middle of 5 or 6mm rotor.

I have some radial miss alignement between rotor and pad, it is in the range of 1-2mm.
This is for 280mm and direct mount, original setup.
I want this to match perfect with reality, then the real job starts.

1. Leg: is it possible to check these dimensions again: Y1 or Y1 + Y2, X1 for both lugs the same value? As accurate as possible please...
2. Rotor 280: real diameter, chamfered with eg 0.5x45°? Same for 300mm. Nominal value is exact?
3. Caliper: i can manipulate the position of piston relative to fixings, my job.
4. Pad: on a used pad, there is a good marking of the piston. Please measure again the 19mm dimensions.

Thanks!

this is the best i could find about the caliper.
Wish i could see the complete drawing.
Nobody with a 3D file of this part? 😁

- centre distance of the legs,
(I’m not sure I understand what you’re referring to)

distance between fork mounting surfaces -> 235mm

- width of both rotors on wheel,

= distance between the two discs ?
if yes -> 142mm

- thickness of rotor,
300 -> 6mm
280 -> 6,5mm

-depth from caliper mounting surface to middle of 5 or 6mm rotor.
30mm to external surface of rotor

Please note that on the "280 setup" fork is Ceriani 35.
Ceriani 38 for the "300 setup"

Not easy to give you very accurate values I'm afraid.
Will do my best and double check.

280 is real diameter, not chamfered

300 is real diameter, chamfered 0,5 at 45°

what about the difference between 35 an 38mm Ceriani?
I assume it is the same geometry for the parts in my model?

Yes same geometry
At first view just a leg diameter (H) difference of 0,5mm (measured just below the upper mounting point).
Ceriani 38 -> H = 49,5mm
Ceriani 35 -> H = 49mm

Diam. H is the same for both 38 & 35 measured at the spindle level -> 48,75mm

think of measuring the rim, this will grow and give you a lot of information.
in half a year, we are talking dimensions for the license plate (y)

Here you go Roland
Thanks to Michael 😘

B + C = 38,5mm

(B and C piston centered)
B = 19
C = 19,5mm

Pad material width = 55,5mm (not 47mm)
Pad material height (middle) = 38,5mm
Pad material height (sides) = 35mm

There are no signs of wear left by the disc, as the entire surface of the brake pad is in contact with it.
