Looks like Brett beat me to it, just spent the last 15 mins resizing those pics to go on the forum and they are already there... dam it!
What a top 4 days,Those roads were sensational, well done Woody and Mr Moose.
Dalgety pub was a hoot, even had the local girl doing her pig impersonations, great food and plenty of laughs.
Worst accomodation, worst food and worst waitress goes to the Tumbarrumba hotel, what an ordinary pub that is.
Best rd for me was Brown Mountain to Dalgety on the end of day two. Riding at full noise over the hills with long lines of sight and in amongst a flock of wind turbines was quite surreal. and that was after a full day of great roads.
Blinkers, tail lights and headlights seam to take a beating but otherwise all was good.
Outstanding 4 days, :D :D

Heres a pic that was on the wall at the Dalgety pub, that is a big fish.

Vic Hislop caught that 6.3 metre Great White at The Nobbies off Phillip Island in 87

Thanks Pat, I looked it up and there are a few pics of it, it really is a massive shark, like they say, more like a whale.

Way to go NSW Club Laverda and where are all these common 81 Jota's coming from.
Hey Batto give us a full report on your back after hoping off the SFC gold medal territry there!!!!!

I can move my fingers again now! The doc says the rest of the body will follow given time...

Actually it wasn't as bad as I thought, no specific back pain, just a general malaise.  I have barely ridden at all this year so I was out of riding fitness anyway and would have been a bit achey on a more comfortable bike (ie ANY other bike).  I have the shortened tank from the Ken Watson racebike fitted which makes my T-Rex arms reach the bars a little easier.  My main discomfort is with the pegs being too far forward, I intend to make some footplates which move them back.  I also need to rig up some kind of speed and distance measurement device, looking at GPS bicycle computers.  Going any distance without it was a bit weird.  I also need a kill switch since it makes me nervous to have no way of stopping if the throttle jams - pull the clutch but no rev limiter and no way to pull the ignition plug on the LHS.
Surprisingly my hands had no problems with going numb like I get on a comparatively comfortable Jota/Corsa/RGA.  My only issue was throttle hand not going numb but just simple soreness form the throttle springs which just comes down to not riding for ages, but the Amal throttle springs are fairly heavy.  When I got home I remembered that there's a friction screw on it which I could have used on the straight boring Monaro Highway which might have helped.  I'm not sure what would have happened if I kept going to Tumbarumba, either would have started to feel better or collapse entirely.  It is certainly a full-on assault on all your senses!

Other than that it was great fun, didn't skip a beat and the ejection of the tail light lens was the only issue.  A bit of a shame since it was the original one I suppose but hey, better out there being ridden.  It gave a TC an enduring memory, reportedly flying off when I came past him at 7500rpm and then exploding in mid air like a FLAK shell.  RIP lens.

I heard that that lovely old dame of the sea had patrolled and dominated the waters for 80+ years and removing her was a bad thing, promoting the influx of many many more probably more dangerous smaller sharks.

It certainly was a monster, as much in girth as length. not something anyone would ever want to see while out for a casual summer dip!! But the fact that people have ben swimming around PI for ever and I don't know of anyone being attacked by a shark says something. Hislop had an innate hatred of sharks.

I was not too far into Steve B?s tale before I realised that this was the SFC rider writing. It certainly shows up the reality of living with an SFC. I took the SF over to west Norway in the summer and it was a bloody joy, albeit with footpegs further back and clipons on top of the triple clamps, but I would have loved a fairing in 3degree rain. Discomforts don't get any lighter as we get older. Must have been a blast though Steve on those fantastic corners. With the almost total dominance of triples it is great to see a twin among the pigeons. It sounds like it was a hoot for all of you on the trip.

I reckon Ill remember that for the rest of my days Steve, the sound of you blasting past and then the tail light lens just exploding and disappearing in a shower of red....
Gold.... 8)

We were all sitting out the back of the pub next to the driveway and where the bikes were parked when we heard it coming in the distance. Around the corner of the pub it arrived, rider hunched over with a pretty big backpack on. It was very theatrical, could have been a scene from a movie. My comment, bloody Show Pony. It was a real treat to see Mr Bato and THAT bike arrive. It was IMPRESSIVE.

Good to see a twin among the flock of triples, Steve - and a rarer than usual SFC to boot! Out of interest, how much shorter is the 'short' SFC tank?

Think he said 50mm, I have attempted to sit on 6 including that bike over the years. I didn't bother this time. Even when I was younger more flexible and thinner I just don't fit even with that shorter tank. My major issue is attempting to fold my legs up that high to get my feet on the pegs. It's been said before, 24 hrs of racing, bloody hell would be literal. But it absolutely looks and sounds sensational.
