In, it's been more than 4 decades since my last trip to SA on an 850 Norton. Highlights from that trip, Birdwood Mill Museum. Unbelievable collection of pre-WW Land Speed racers. Mt Gambia Crater Lake. Amazing sight. Cruising across the Hay Plain, a dead straight road that seemingly went for days at 90 mph, the Norton clutch would slip if I went faster. Camping in the Desert at Renmark in 40c heat and nothing to drink, Camping at Blaney and Freezing my Arse off, well known as the cold place in Oz. Braking a drive chain 100 km out of Adelaide and fitted the replacement in a Motel, riding on my first tram ever to Glenelg Beach, which sadly turned into a train 50 mitres after getting on it. My first ride over the Great Ocean Road, it rained just like every other time since. Memorable trip.
 
Anybody keen to join us from overseas, please accept our invitation! Spare bikes, helmets etc, can be organised. I still owe Paul LeClair a set of tyres I wore out in Canada, so come and wear out some rubber!
 
Here's another idea for our overseas friends, why not bring the family on holidays, and you can drive the backup vehicle, even swap between backup driving and riding. 7 seater Volvo XC90 with the bike trailer on the back. Food for thought.....
