You can fix that. Grab a needle and thread, and put a stitch through each of the finger tips to hold the inner linings. Then when you pull the gloves off, the linings can't be dragged back. A stitch in the finger tip isn't likely to cause the gloves to leak, but if you're worried about that use a dab of waterproofing wax to seal it.

The best way to make sure you sew the liner in the right place is to wear the glove that you're stitching and curve your fingers as they would be on the bike. Leave the stitch a little loose when you tie it off so the liner can move a bit as you flex/straighten your gingers. Just be careful not to jab the end of your finger with the needle. Use a curved needle if it helps. Surgeons should be good at that sort of thing  ;)
 
The best winter gloves I've come across are 'Five Advanced Gloves', they have what they call a 'Double Cuff System' which consists of an elasticated cuff that fits up inside the jacket and a gauntlet type cuff that extends up outside the jacket. They are thin for a winter glove but very warm and waterproof, also have the obligatory knuckle protectors.
Very pleased with them.

Thats what I was wearing on the run to Nundle Terry. Great gloves, comfy and warm.
They lasted the first day ok, dried them out, then second day they couldn't cope after about 2 hours.
totally waterlogged.
They are great for a bit of rain but extended torrential they dont cope.
 
Tom, inside the jacket cuff or outside. I was amazed at how much inside was better. One of my jackets won't allow inside though, the other does. My old Alpine Star Gotex had that double glove cuff, you needed to be Houdini to achieve the glove inner in the jacket and the glove outer outside the jacket. Maybe possible with one glove but doing the other with a glove on wasn't going to happen.
 
Agree Steve. $200 double layer waterproof gloves work well if they are inside the cuffs of the jacket. Problem with the new jacket is waterproofing doesn?t go inside the cuff, so water wicks into the lining up to the elbow. I?ve ordered a can of spray to try and sort that issue. The front zipper issue is more complex. If I put on about 20 kg and get a nice round tummy I reckon it wouldn?t leak. Crease when you sit creates a hollow where water collects. I think the external belt helped with the old jacket, no belt on this one just an internal draw string. 3XL size works well everywhere else length wise,
 
"Crease when you sit creates a hollow where water collects." A lot of wet weather gear doesn't seal well enough for these creases which can be more like a dam.
Gloves inside helps, but it eventually manages to dribble in on a longer ride I have found.
 
The best wet weather gear I've ever had (and still use) is a set of Australia Post gear donated by Dan Fahey ( ex Club Laverda NSW member).  The cuffs are elasticated with a gusset over the top so that, with the above mentioned gloves, there are five overlapping sections between the glove and jacket.
The gear is bright yellow, which may put some off, but the old 'I didn't see you' defence would be hard to prove. :D
