...... an oldie but goodie ........

When a Bol d`Or tribute ( if you wish to call it that ) ) is produced in a form which elevates it in terms of sight and sound to a standard which transcends any quantifiable attempt to justify the rationale which led to it`s creation .........

In other words , don`t question what he did , or why he did it that way .......... just be glad that he did ................

I reckon it sounds great , and looks even better .........

Here they are again ....... Fooling around in a car park instead of going out catching criminals ............. Is this where all our taxes go ? ...........

Throttle ? .... yeah ok ............... Clutch lever ? .... nah , don`t bother with that ...............

I have the feeling that instead of nicking you for speeding on your favourite twisty road , they`d be sitting on your tail waiting to get by .............

...... and whilst we`re going round the bend ..........

Used to watch these a lot about 15 years ago ........ Is CJ .... ( Crispin maybe ? ) .... still around , or even on here ? ............
Brings back memories of rides with Steve Winterton, not just because of the looks of the riders, but the same type of attitude to cornering on twisty roads. :)

Eighty four year old Ago four years ago when Ago was eighty ..... ( see what I did there ? ) .........

Not so much Ago and MV ...... more like Bonera and Read MV , and Ago with Yamaha ........ although he did return to MV in `76 for a few races , posting the last ever 500 and 350 four stroke victories ........

If you`re wearing headphones be careful .......... those MV`s are loud to the point of being painful ...........

Amazing how they raced so well but were so shite as road bike.

Yes ....... I had a T160 which lunched it`s gearbox shaft hub which took the drive from the clutch ... not lubed during factory ( BSA ) assembly it seems ....... and was reluctant to get into three mph figures ...... export version so probably low compression for USA market ........

The racing versions showed what could be done if put together properly by dedicated staff ........ The showroom bikes were put together using worn out tooling by blokes who knew they would soon be made redundant .......

When Paul Smart went to Ducati in 1972 for the Imola race , he said he was quizzed by Taglioni who was intrigued to know how a road bike could be turned into a world beating race bike ........

In truth they were an adaption of a pre-war engine put together and developed to the limit of that design by an innovative and talented race team ...... It would have been impossible in terms of time and money to produce the road bikes up to that standard .......

Still ..... 87 bhp and 170 mph isn`t bad for a road engine who`s roots can be traced back to 1937 !
