Best thing with those bastard allen heads in the bottom of the forks is to give them a couple of hard smacks with a hammer and steel drift before trying to undo them. Then use a rattle gun.

I love this thread. I thought I was the only one who broke things off then spent hours using kitchen tools trying to fix them. In every case, the little voice told me to stop turning just before it broke.
