Hello,i have recently purchased a Motodd Jota.I am having it fully restored including engine stripped and checked etc.I am looking for workshop manuals to include engine specs to enable this.Any help would be much appreciated
 
Would be better to take it to a marque expert that doesn't need any manuals. ;)

It may look to be an easy motor to work on, but it has many pitfalls that are not recognised by many "pro" engine builders. These pitfalls can eventually cause loads of grief.

Take the motor to Keith Nairn, he's up in your neck of the woods too. You won't get better but you might have to wait.
 
Keith isn't rude, in fact, I've found him to be one of the most politest and helpful people in the trade, he just doesn't beat around the bush. There is so much bullshit floating around these bikes, it's usually quite sobering to find out the truth. This is often not appreciated by new owners that think they have aquired the epitome of motorcycles.

porsche, judging from your handle, I'm thinking you're just used to a different type of customer service.;)

Fact is, Piet, Keith and a lot of Others Laverda-Owners don't Talk Bullshit.
But, and Here you are right, theire answers don't answer your Question.

What was achieved where was the offence and I thought I can be hypersensitive sometimes my only dealing with Keith could have easily gone really bad but he did way more than most would to resolve it. Never met the bloke but he is a top bloke to deal with as far as I have found
 
Porsche,

You need to calm down. Taking your bike to someone who is not a Laverda specialist will mean you will get back a bike with problems. Workshop manuals always leave out much useful information. Such as know problem areas and usually have incorrect information. If you let this mechanic touch the crank shaft, they are guaranteed to fuck it up if they don't have all the correct tooling (which they will need to make - very expensive!!!).

Take the bike to Keith and you will receive back a properly restored and running bike.

There is no substitute for experience with a paticular make of motorcycle.

I am betting you will receive back in a few months a box of parts when they realize they don't know anything about Laverda's. Your then going to have to take it to Keith.
