Nice story about Dave Degens-I know he won at Montjuic Park 24 hr Race a couple of times,`65 and `70,but one thing I never knew until just now was that Japauto got him to build the frames for their Honda CB900 endurance racers which won at the Bol d`Or in `72 and `73.
I always just associated him with Tritons before.
About spikey attitudes-you can encounter this in any walk of life,although motorcycling tends to attract more than it`s fair share,not just in the Laverda world either.My attitude to it is water off a ducks back,take it with a pinch of salt etc.,they`re the ones with the problem,doesn`t bother me,although when you finally get to meet these people in person,they`re not always the miserable sod you thought them to be.

Laverda Jota,sold by Alan Duffus motorcycles in March 1979.Good friend of mine bought it in 1980.He dropped it shortly after and subsequently bought the Motodd kit.Sadly he passed away earlier this year aged 60.I bought the bike from his wife with the promise i would have it restored to its former glory.I have spoken with Richard Slater and Phil Todd,both extremely helpful and lovely.I spoke with Keith and have previously shared my thoughts.The person who is going through the engine worked for Alan Duffus in the late 70s and 80s mostly on Laverdas, with many,many engine rebuilds.He also raced at the Isle of man with a Kh500,Laverda Jota etc, looking after his own bikes.I asked for handbooks/literature as i thought it may be useful to him after all these years.Whether i have 16 Porsches,2 Ferraris,30 bikes or absolutely nothing. Surely this should not be a reason for people make up nonsense about my username.One or two have been brave enough to suggest that the fuckwits and sad bastards i spoke about possibly should take a look at themselves.I will say again you are sad bastards and fuckwits.

No one cares what you own or don't own, it's the attitude you projected was / is the problem, this time you explained the background which would have honned the answer if you had been clearer the first time. First impressions stick though and we were correct, prick 🤣🤣
