Why? What's wrong with it?

My understanding (talking to Wolfgang) is the very small nipple and clevis (as pictured) was only fitted to the early bikes which also had the flimsy Verlicchi levers (off scooters!!) which were quickly changed to Tomaselli (?) so most probably a couple of other sizes used later.Piranha Brother 2 said:I'm sure my SF1 came with a different nipple (and clevis) to the SF2, but I'm also sure it wasn't as small as that one pictured - I might have kept it, so can produce evidence! I changed to the SF2 one when I got a new clutch cable way back in history.

CLEMTOG said:I have half told you about this, the early one has a nipple small enough to be pushed through the threaded adjuster, the later cable has the nipple larger and comes with the threaded adjuster captive on the cable, you need the right sized clevis for the nipple be it a large one or a small one, I am guessing that Paul H is trying to fit a later and much more common cable to an earlier style clevis, which would come with his kidney shaped cover, and anyway (rivet counters stop reading here) you bike Paul H is too young for a kidney shaped cover if we are talking the ex Hale, ex flying bogie, or is this another, if it is, then push on and get you kidney cover and cable working and stuff the R C's
