I thought about that and decided it must have been made that way. It was banana shaped rather than having a sharp bend.
I wondered if Luigi was maybe using coil wire as his stock and froze-in a very slight arc when it was hardened? Who knows. The wine down there has a lot to answer for. I don't think end-to-end compressive forces could have bent it in such a regular, neat way.
