Jota for sale in Canada

Can't really say it's non matching numbers when the frame doesn't have numbers. Frame can easily be stamped but having the right stamps would be a problem. Easy to pick a re-stamped motor/frame by the font

Also, the frame appears to be for a 1200 while the motor is 1000. This seems to be an inconsistency impossible to fix.

What's the difference between the frames?? I thought both frames the same, the 1200 just distinguish the model. Happy to be corrected.
I'm with PLC, the numbers wouldn't bother me.
Better to know the frames been replaced than the original being bent

Doest the 1200 have a differently shaped side cover, maybe it is required because of the different frame shape.

AFAIK all the late 180s and all the 120 Jotas had the same frame, i.e. the frame ‘from’ the 1200.
If you want an ‘investment grade’ Jota buy an earlier one, but if you want to ride one that handles, buy a Motodd like Rob…

Hi all,

i think the Vinnumber (7787) is selve made.
In Germany it is not possible to get the ok from Tüv about this!!
And without Tüv you dont can imatriculate it.
Also its interesting what is written in the documents.
If there is Laverda 1000... and on the frame is 1200... you have a great problem i think.(in Germany)

If you want an investment grade Jota, buy a Brough Superior SS100.

difficult to adequately stamp the frame number on a built bike, since you realy should have a tight(ish) fitting mandrel inside the headstock and use a fly press to embed the number nice and deeply, dont ask me how I know.

A good investment involves buying low and watching investment value rise. Brough Superior machines long ago lost the term good investments as the ‘club entry fee’ is high.

A good investment consists in not buying something destined to disappear into the oblivion of the past with a buying price negatively disconnected from the rate of inflation.
And riding the bloody things.

And who in their right mind buys a Laverda as an ‘investment’ anyway?
But there again, who in their right mind buys a Brough for the very same reason. 🤔
I see spending money on buying and attempting to keep some of my bikes working as a way of stopping my wife wasting too much money on her dogs! 🐕

Who's talking about right minds?

Someone who I did some work for spent tens of thousands of dollars importing Irish Setter semen from England, more than once. At least I only imported one Atlas. People are queer.

I visited Max Hazan's shop in LA a few weeks ago. Two old JAP engined bikes. One a racer; the other a road bike. Both mechanically refurbished and otherwise (mostly) left alone. Another that was totally tricked out and supercharged. Seems like there is a healthy market for them. Definitely in a different league.

You should import Atlas semen and try breeding them maybe?
Queer people don't reproduce like Irish setters.

“Rainbow” humanoids do not reproduce. This is a good thing. Full stop.
I dont see any auction action on this machine located in the high Canadian arctic.

Well, that went south very quickly. My queer comment has NOT ABOUT GAYS. It was a very old pommy saying, from the carry-on films or music hall days, I very much retreat it now. There's nout queer as folk, that's the direct quote

“Pommy” is a rather stereotypical racist term as well. Be very cautious how and what you consider a derogatory term.

I only bring it up, cause,,,,golly,,,25 years ago I was banned from an ancient Laverda chat room for using that term.
