LED indicators

My bike (120 Jota with Cico bodywork) has no indicators. Sleek look but not practical. When I have digital ignition fitted I'm thinking about getting some LED indicators added. Will require some thought on where and how to mount them but with modern units they're very bright but small and unobtrusive. There is a bewildering array of choice, I've been looking at https://www.digital-speedos.co.uk/indicators-c5 probably at Kellermans.

Anyone have any experience or recommendations for choice of unit and mounting point?
 
I recently fitted a Kellerman R1 Flasher Unit, ideal for my Laverda as space for the unit, in the headlamp shell, is limited. Kellerman is a reputable company, producing high quality items for many years.
I'm not sure whether, or not, some of the modern, tiny indicators are legal under Construction and Use Regulations. Probably best to check, before fitting.

I used the Motogadget pod indicators on the rear of my 1200, had to make a bracket for them thats all.
And the Kellerman Atto on the front, mounted under the fairing.

Both work well, and to my eyes are inoffensive.
Both have a sweet spot where they are dazzlingly bright but the Kellerman are more directional whereas the Motogadget are also an all round light.
Thats why I went with the Motogadget on the rear.

I installed the same on my 1200 in the same place as the originals with adapters. I am pleased with them. I have had an aversion to large indicators since the Japanese bikes became common in the seventies.

Thanks for pointing out my lack of spelling expertise.
Trust me I am well aware of it.

Will try harder in future Cam
Maybe I should use Wickapedia more often.

I really liked those Kellerman tulip-style blinkers, there maybe 30mm long and look like their Bilit, BUT back when I was looking they were $150 each. $600oz for blinkers was insane to me.
 
go easy on him Tom- while we are are putting miles on our lavs and spending untold hours building them, cams been good enough to spell check our posts- give the cat a pat for me cam

Love the GPO ( Power point ) on the wall, incoming exposed twin and earth TPS on narrow stud, at risk open space behind the mounting block, send the inspector around in the morning..... sorry could not help myself, still carry an electrical contractors licence... the oft "how did you know it was diy electricals" dunno just a guess.... non plussed look on face... BTW dont ride that bike much i guess, tits still on the tyre.... let alone the painted numbers.... sorry and not sorry jon....a laugh here...j

Yet another designated item name change is it, am obliged rowdypat. Ho hum....again.... most probable this will be my last year of contractors licence, then again it was hard going obtaining it, so will change my mind again, the very aspect i accuse AS3000 of doing... i caught the infection from the authors. Not so much of a grin here, resignation more aptly...j

Well done Tom, nice...B pass, if you put the small white caps ( found in bag or spares on the rear of the outlet ) to cover the UNC 6-32 screw heads, bump that up from the B pass.... yes its the little things the apprentices would have grief over... your quick i will give you that Tom... not much fun working close under a bench, oh my back....j
 
Indeed it did, funny you know, there are annoying people on the planet, you know the ones that point this out or do this "this way"... dont know any myself??? You have that look again.... a smile here. Gets worse... my mother was a touch typing teacher and Pitman shorthand teacher, TAFE during the 70's... i'll be grading your touch typing... you looked well pleased Tom... is that your eyes blinking.... was this topic something about blinking????? Kind of lost track meself.... have fun at the typing course "asdf hjkl or jkl return" dependant on school... palms off the rest and space bar.... off you go.... next class is Morse Code... Tx 10 words per minute and 5 words a minute Rx, Dah dit Dah ( K or back to you ) dit Dah Dah Dah...
 
"Paris" is the standard for a word..... now Tutti Compresso.... 'she sells sea shells by the sea shore'.... kids love it.... also a DMM on high ohms range as a "lie detector" one probe in each hand.... absolute hoot with under 8 yo kids. Trick is lightly hold the probes in the demo mode, kids always squeeze tight... ".... you have been telling fibes" on low ohmic readings. Best one is GenRad Strobe doing stop motion on a small electric motor, kids try to touch the frozen image.... get a shock to find it is still moving....used to attend school district shows, with TAFE department.... kids are great. j
 
Hey Jon, you remind me of an old electrician mate of mine who was an inspector for the electricity authority (he's now retired). He walked into my shed shortly after I built it. All the power points and lights were temporarily connected with exposed wiring looped everywhere (gimme a break, it was a "work in progress" at the time). He had a quick look around and said (in the voice of Sgt Schultz from Hogan's Heroes) "I see nothing" :)
I pointed out to him that it was all protected with an RCD, so it wouldn't electrocute anyone. That didn't seem to comfort him much.

At least he gave my self-built kitchen the thumbs up. All wiring in compliance with AS3000.
