Suspect Quality of valves maybe Andy?
Have you found broken bits in the oil ?

I'm informed that, as well as a couple of seats needing to be replaced a few guides are suspect too: who are the go-to people for those (1x inlet and 2x exhaust), Slaters' liquidators? Wolfgang?

Replacing guides will require seats being recut and eat into remaining shim thickness. Keith Nairn prefers to use valves with oversize stems, reaming guides to suit.
Given you're in Oz, I'd start with Red to explore options
