New member searching for a good Jota

Nobody is perfect, except maybe me. But at least by 25 years old know your limitations or try to acquire knowledge before doing a full engine rebuild and fuck a bunch of it up that then bite the new owner for the next 5 years. Just because you can do an oil change doesn't make you an engine builder. Specifically, that rebuild used the insane pull the studs technic to remove the top end instead of pulling the engine out of the frame. Then he refitted one of the studs, the one closest to having minimum alloy holding it in upside-down, short thread into the case. Then, when he couldn't get the rocker back on, this genius decides to cut 10mm off the stud, making it very hard to notice its complete length is now short. I attempted toqueing said short stud and it pulls out of the case. Years later, a poor attempt is made to fix this by another xxx on the pulled thred and that also fails spatctuly resulting in a new set of cases happening. So many home-schooled hacks are being overconfident in their abilities before my engine got right done to it.
 
In the professional mechanics world we have a 'wall of shame'; sometimes the offending item is actually displayed on the wall, sometimes it's a term used metaphorically ... I think the meaning is pretty self-evident. DPO's (or DPM's?!) are the bane ...

Even bodging and shortcuts CAN be done right, just need to recognise the implications! An imbecile can ruin a perfectly good engine, even by going by the manual. :rolleyes: I've met a few... some even have a fully equipped workshop, but as long as they don't understand which end of the screwdriver to hold, their efforts are largely doomed.
