NGK B8ES

Just bought a box of 10 and a few N3C.
That should keep production going.
Maybe it's a fake originating with NGK Japan to boost sales. 2023 was a bad year for B8s.

For what it's worth, just bought 6 B8ES plugs on the devil site (Amazon) for $2.61 each. Will be curious to see if they're the real deal as I've heard lots about counterfeit plugs on the market.
 
NAPA claimed online to carry them listed as #2411, but turns out they've been discontinued. After reading about bogus ones on Ebay I ordered them from Walmart- remains to be seen if they are genuine. I might try the Champion NRCs others have mentioned. I don't see them listed at other auto parts stores, only on Ebay-
 
OK, it looks like I need to contact NGK in the USA and see what they say. It appears the non-resistor plugs are available in some countries and not others?

Also as best as I can tell, all NGK spark plugs are manufactured in either China or Japan so why would that effect what is available in individual countries?
 
To further muddy the waters, I note that on the NGK Japan site it still lists B8ES as available:-
The notes at the bottom of the page state plugs listed will include discontinued plugs but still listed to reference alternatives and in last point states discontinued plugs are in paranthesis (which the B8es is not) See what I did there?
Anyway, all very weird, but if all dealers in the US are saying discontinued perhaps they have already stopped supplying larger markets and writing is on the wall for others.............
 
In my (limited) experience, the US tends to follow its own path without the need to consult other markets. So perhaps the plugs only been discontinued in the US.
