Us too ...

First stop was Lake Crenshaw, 76 miles up into the mountains, for breakfast burritos. Next was over to Santa Isabella via the tricky 2nd- and even 1st-gear corners on the Mesa Grande Rd. The only real obstacle on the Mesa Rd was having to hit the brakes for Peacocks crossing the Road.
If I may :giggle: It's Lake Henshaw, Mesa Grande (which I always considered the local IoM) and Santa Ysabel.

It is regardless a nice route and making a good pace up the north side of Mesa Grande on a large bike is a good challenge. And at the top you have the gravel covered corner that has been that way for at least four decades.

If I see a Laverda out that way, I'll be sure to say hello!

I can recommend a set of SEV Marchal lamps. Nowadays lighting on bikes are better than in the past. Even though it looks a bit odd, I understand what it was populair in the 70s to had additional lamps on bikes.

Just to show you the two lamps which is installed on my triple. For the low beam I use the 819 and for high beam/cornering light the 810. I can operate them individually but use them mostly together.

Before installation I wanted to see how they looked so made a bracket and took it out in the evening.

1. Here a photo with both switched on.

2. Only the 819 switch on.

I’m really surprised by how bright they are for lamps made in the 70s. These are NOS with the original H3 bulbs. But now changed them for LEDs because I heard the metal cats can fell off due to heat from the halogen bulbs.

Sorry for the silly story but I really love them…

Nothing at all wrong with 1970s H4 and H3 bulbs! Used with relays they were incredible lights. I travelled interstate several times back then with a 55/90w H4 std light and a Cibie 60w driving light. Incredible lights. The supposedly 150w Bosch genny on a 750 coped without problem.

My twin LEDs from a 250 Kwaka aren't anywhere near as good, but there's something odd about the high beam shape. I ride out of town at night so rarely these days that I haven't bothered to look into it, but if I plan on any touring that involves night riding I'll definitely have to sort it or get different lights.

I put an H4 130W x 90W bulb with a relay in my upgraded 3C alternator, and the result was fantastic. It did need careful aiming to not blind oncoming traffic.
