Out and about on the new-to-me Corsa...
Very pleased. Steve (@Stoutgoose) did a great job resurrecting Clems old Corsa that I think was (prior to Clem) Nigel Stock's old bike.
Sounds good and goes well - but I am considering if I should keep the 3-into-1 or go for the Jota pipes I had on my first Corsa...
Thoughts?
It joins Andy Franchi's 750SF and Andy Holbrook's 1200 Mirage in my care now... how long I can keep 3, I am not sure - but I SO regretted selling my own Corsa (B644YJD) that I needed to find another...
Thanks, Steve!
The bike looks great Dave, and I reckon you should keep the 3-1, which was the factory option rather than Jota pipes.
Incidentally, it's the bike Clem offered me for free if I could push it from the bottom of the hill to the house, but as he never dug it out from the back of the shed I never got the chance to try.....

No offence intended, Mastroianni. We're not the police! It's just a simple thing but helps keep everything in the right place - same thing happens if someone posts a 'wanted' in the General thread. As we all love your pics, keep them coming!
No problem at all; you know, we French love to talk and spar with the people we're speaking to—often without actually saying anything, just for the love of words.
As I’ve said before, I’m not easily offended; after a lifetime spent among "un-deconstructed" men in a hyper-masculine professional environment, I’ve got a thick skin.
You’ll notice I like to tease my friends on the forum, and I’m perfectly happy to take a bit of ribbing in return.
Besides, we suffer from that Gallic syndrome—the village surrounded by Romans and that vile horde of Anglo-Saxons.
Fortunately, we have Asterix,Idefix, the magic potion, and our own weapon of mass destruction: Obelix.
Mess with us, and you’ll get stung.

Yes it’s all looking pretty good. I think Steve did a really good job in putting it all together and tidying it up nicely without making it a trailer queen.
The primary chain seems a little loose to my ears now, but then I have ridden it a fair bit since getting it - so probably needs adjusting.
I’m glad you didn't get that opportunity from Clem to attempt the “hill climb” otherwise I probably wouldn’t have the bike!
I didn’t really know Clem, having only met him once or twice at ILOC meetings in the 80s. From what I’ve heard he was quite a character and a bit of a windup merchant. I expect he would’ve found a way to disqualify your attempt!
I think Laverda’s must attract interesting people, since almost everyone I’ve met (with very few exceptions) in the last 45 years since I bought my first Laverda have been a long way from boring!
Some are probably best described as ‘marmite’ characters, but nearly all are genuine and engaging enthusiasts.
The 3 into 1 is perhaps a bit loud for my taste, but my biggest issue with it is my perception of reduced mid range torque. It seems pretty flat - until you wind the bike up. The low and mid-range seems to be a bit lacking in comparison to what I remember from my first Corsa.
Purely as an interesting exercise, I may start another thread on exactly that topic of keeping the 3 to 1 and trying to sort the mid-range or a “return” to the Jota pipes of my previous Corsa (pictured)….IMG_0702.jpeg

That motorcycle is magnificent; Laverda's designers always had a great touch.

I can’t disagree. @Mastroianni
I made the mistake a few years ago of counting how many motorcycles I had owned, borrowed for more than a week, raced or rented - in at least six different countries over the last 50+ years.
It was over 70 bikes of all makes and types - but since counting, it’s probably increased by another 10 bikes.
Repairs & Restoratikns are a great excuse. 🤣

Some bike have been practical stopgaps, others just bikes I took in part-ex for a repair or restoration project over the years. I didn't even have a car licence until I was nearly 30 years old.
Even now I have a ridiculously large collection of 14 bikes - although 5 of them are for sale.

Of ALL those many bikes and experiences - JUST TWO makes and model of bikes have appeared in my ownership twice.
Both took ages to find the right one to rekindle my dream - that probably occurred wearing rose-tinted glasses…

1987 Laverda RGS 1000 Corsa - the first one was bought new in 1984.
1972 Triumph T100R Daytona 500 - the first was actually a second hand 1968 T100 Tiger (single carb) - bought second hand and as a wreck in 1979 - restored repaired just before I passed my test - so my first (legal) "big bike".

Buying the same thing twice probably tells you how much I like them both.
