Hey Conrad,

Got any groovy new shots to post mate?

Andrew

cheers andrew, umm here's a quick pic from yesterday. Cat catches, dog scoffs. Its like she's running a wee protection racket.

got offered a pigdog pup, got barked at by some seals, and then bumped into a good bugger who bartered me some bambi.

Conrad,
Love the Tortie Cat - she looks well mean.

Ally

heh. she scares me tbh Ally. Like many torties she's a bit mental and dead sneaky. I like how she looks made of two halves.

she always makes me think of the ol' kwak death triples, h* stinkwheels that have been used for so many ace looking multi-projects

Conrad,

Never seen a six-pot H2 before, but they were a bit of a favourite when I first left school.  My first job started an hour after my last exam - finished early so I could get there quicker without worrying about how good a mark I got in HSC (read A levels).  Never wanbted to go to Uni, just wanted to work in a bike shop.  The shop was a mecca for Z1, H1, H2, Waterbottles and whathaveyou and I used to ride my pushy about 10 miles there and back each day on one of the busier roads in Sydney, until I got cleaned up getting the morning teas one day.  They thought it safer to put me on a 315 Suzuki which quickly got 4mm plates underneath the barrels and TS185 pistons to make it a true 347cc.

The boss had a Z1 engine in a Champion slider frame with no front brake and quarter turn throttle and he was a bit of a hero to me, flat tracking the thing around a short circuit track until a wicked highside tamed him down a bit.  He then put it back in a road frame and registered it with a sidecar - used to take me along Pennant Hills Road with the chair up in the air and I thought I was King of the Kids as a 17 year old.  We used to service and hot up the Z's for the Police Rider Training School closeby to where I lived.  I remeber getting shocked by the mechanics whilst they were tuning an H1 - asked me to pass a spanner, then grabbed my hand and took his knee of the tyre..  his other hand was on the spark plug and the second mechanic was wringing the throttle whilst I copped a charge and put on an extraordinary dance. Wonderful memories like getting the grease gun up the arse at the Christmas Party from the boss - I would have called the Police except one of NSW finest was holding one of my arms down at the time..

Seeing the H2s reminded me of this really cool cat who was forever having more work done to his H2 - it was a beauty with Ric Roberts chambers, though my memories are perhaps better than reality - I get so excited thinking of bikes back in the 70s, the exuberance of that youth!!
