Those pipes are artwork.

cheers Grant, I had Nick Parravani of deepest Narrfk make them in the mid 90's just as I was emmigrating here (Competition Fabrications is his place in Attleborough). He really is a magician with any stainless projects. I've spotted his work and been wowed by it for aaages now, in the jetboat race scene, in the rod scene, most everywhere. All hand bent to the bike, quite asymetrical, which is what actually makes them sit so just so, yanno. lol. brain fried, is assignment submission deadline night, arg. feel a bit like this...

Someone's pets, now just meat - I hit 2 dogs this morning on the Guzzi and the bumhole was puckering for sure!

I didn't come off luckily but they somehow the dogs were killed outright. I wouldn't recommend starting the day that way.

Cheers
Jason

damn, not a good day Jason :(   At least you didn't go for a skate yrself, and better for the dogs to be killed outright than very badly hurt perhaps?

Must be the make of bike.

A couple of years ago I was following a mate who hit a sheep and went for a somersault down the road. Busted his collar bone and messed up his bike. He was riding a Guzzi too.
The sheep was gutted - literally.

Cheers,
Cam

A mate of mine hit a wild horse a couple of years ago not far from here. Dirt road riding a GS BM. Lots of broken bones, ambulance jobby and one serious fuck BM never to be ridden again. He now rides a GS650PD.
A month ago he was riding another borrowed GS100 returning from the artic circle in Norway and hit a reindeer. Thet BM was only good for parts and he had to pretty much buy it from the owner after that.
I think that part of the borrowing deal was to pay for a recond gearbox so all in all a fairly expensive holiday. Didn't bang himself up too much this time, maybe a broken collerbone. Haven't caught up with him yet to hear first hand.
Hey JotaDave, remember Dave Dumbleyoung?. He was luckly that Kenny was riding with him when he hit the horse.

jeepers!  Stock and that is such a worry aye. Can be dumber than some car drivers even. Though I'm fortunate to have never hit anything bigger than a goose myself. Still near had me off mind.

GS650PD hmm..  GS650katana oh definitely !  :D

here's some stock in the back garden, where they bloody should be. They're like 'the lads'. If human, they'd be leaning against the trees and smoking.

Not stock, wild horses!!! If it was stock you could claim compensation from the farmer.

Managed to just not quite miss a Brumby more than seven years ago.
Hit it with the fairing and folded the mirror of my RGSFC.
Nothing happened, didn't come off the bike and no damage done, but I was scared s***less and shaking so much I needed a bit of a breather for a few minutes.

Don't really remember how we then got to the pub where we stayed over night, my adrenalin levels must have been really high.

a near thing there Jezebel!  love them adrenaline butterflies.

Cee Jay took a great photo of my dog - thank you so much! - so I can finally show him off.

Most lovable creature in the world.

Very handsome animal, I'm not a dog person but it's easy to understand how a dog like that creates a bond.
I just wanted to point out to you as a linguist that in urban Afro-American street language "my dog" translates to "my significant other". Don't think there's too many ghetto-dwellers on this forum, though.

Ken

Thanks Ken for the linguistic update. Most of you I reckon know that I consider myself a bit of a "language junkie". Always happy the learn something new.

Usually you're either a dog or a cat person, very rarely both. Even though I do like cats as they are very cuddly, I prefer the love and affection you get in return from a dog.

Cheers
Christiane

Ken, in the UK to go dogging means something completely different.  8)

can't see your dog pic upload sadly Christiane. just a host placeholder it looks like?

'dog' as a descriptive term I've mainly understood to mean a bit of a roughie, but have been taken to task by folks from parts of the northerer bits of england who call you a dog to mean you're a loyal friend. Then there's dogging whatever that is. The cat/dog difference that resonates with me is; Dogs know you're the boss, cats know they're the boss, and pigs sit in the middle, see you as their equal.

Ace koala there Yogi.

I likes all animals, they see the real you

"Dogging is a British euphemism for engaging in sexual acts in a semi-public place (typically a secluded car in a car park) and then watching others doing so. Frequently, there are more than two participants; both group sex and gang banging can be included. As observation is encouraged, voyeurism and exhibitionism are closely associated with dogging. The two sets of people involved often meet either randomly or (increasingly) arrange to meet-up beforehand over the Internet."
