RGS-based custom

I like 'em, even the first one that has so offended all the tea drinkers. :D What the hell, it's something different and interesting rather than yet another SFC-bodyworked 3CL (which by the way I love also!). If it's not the ideal Laverda to blast the autobahnen or do track days or ride to Nordkap it doesn't really matter. For tootling 50 miles to visit a pub and have people stare in awe or confusion or moral outrage it's perfect!

Piet's comments about the suitability of the transmission for the belt are fully respected. That's experience and knowledge speaking there- the output shaft can be marginal even in normal operation. There's definitely something going on under the cover but it does not look like the outrigger bearing arrangement that it would appear to require. It's certainly better if a heavy custom is still a viable long-term device but he's obviously out and about on it so I'd be curious what he's done there and also how it fares over time.

But a bit of variety in the Laverda world is a good thing I reckon. More power to him. (y) :)

Because it may not be everybody's 'cup of tea' doesn't mean that you can't admire it.
There are exceptions of course and we know who they are ;).

Takes a very talented man to ride a bike sideways
…
well - riding sideways with controle (!!) takes a talented riders. I rode several times sideways, unfortunately mostly without controle but with a high bill for repair afterwards... 😢 Only one time I was able to recover bike stability when the rear went sideways due to the alternator cover touching ground and making the rear light... 🥵 (a situation following the picture in my avatar...)
