Mine also came w a dirty and broken air filter and the carb slides were badly scored so inspect yours. Dam Classic sells a nice billet sump cover w magnetic drain that simplifies oil changes
My experience with replacement air filters in 2 SF2s and a GTL over close to fifty years is that none of them fit as well as the original.
The K&N is a little narrow, the VW style Weber replacement is a bit wider (and can be significantly less expensive e.g. Jbugs VW filter) though still not fitting around the embossment of the back plate so my approach is to put a strip of draught excluder self adhesive door sealing foam strip around the groove in the retaining plate to fill the gaps resulting from imperfect alignment.
The chain is Donald Ducked.Belt is generic. Look up the dimensions in the Green Book.
Leave the starter chain be

Phew, if it was fucked you'd be up Shit Creek! The chain is Donald Ducked.
A little surprised you'd say it is DD'ed!The chain is Donald Ducked.
Ordered one, this morning. Thanks, Teddy.I got my V belt from an industrial bearing/parts supplier Gates Truflex#1210.
Instead of prying the new on, I temporarily unbolted the generator clamps, fed the belt and bolted the generator back on

Take it off and soak it in thin oil.A picture, as they say,....View attachment 97932
And if the tyres are cracked with age use a bit of boot polish on them.
