This is my solution..sockets bought locally ..nice surprise .online with door to door delivery during lockdown..

It is to me

Well it wasn't straightforward for me..All my Laverda pics were taken on my Samsung A30 phone which used  the fairly new HEIC format.    First I had to move them from my phones camera to a cloud host such as Google photos..there are many options.. Just won't work direct from your computer..pc laptop c drive whatecer. Next. I had to use an online converter to make Heic  to jpg work on this forum  .So first thing you need to know is that your camera is shooting jpg or you will have to convert them to that of one or
the other formats listed on the forum.  Next you have to  bring them to a suitable size so it can  be posted on this forum.  800kb is the magic number. I downloaded  a picresiser  t and then exprimented until I got a pic that would up to this site..
Like a lot of modern technology it is straight forward once you have the road map.

I was saying how I have been here for years and the only way I can post pics is if I put them on the desktop and drag them in and that rarely works. So literally my post of Quote  It is to me End Quote means I find it bloody hard too and I  was referring to your comment of how hard posting pics is. 62-year-old Builders have tech savy limitations. I was not having a go at how easy you should find it. The exact opposite, wow it's just so easy to confuse an idea. No wonder we get a rep of being aggressive here. I suppose I need to use more words in a post to be clear, my poor fingers.

Indeed, it's not straightforward. Having to resize is a lot harder than going 'click' load and bingo. These days I take pics on my phone, email them to myself (gives a resize option) and then open on the laptop, download the attachment/s and THEN upload to the forum. That's not straightforward.

This arrived this morning from Germany.

Soo impatient Paul! Still, suppose you can use it when reassembling? As for this photo thing, just why is it so difficult...i take pics and ping on whatsapp or email or messenger all the time..why cant it be made simpler?

it is simple Nick
if I can do it, and from a phone camera as well, what with me being more handy with 48" stilson or 45 oxy/acet nozzle, then so can you, its been said that the way I do it is no longer appropriate, but I am still doing it, and the complaints have stopped, takes 2 minutes max.
and....I still thank Simon (Deal) for the help in learning how to do it, as with anything if you are being instructed and YOU WANT to learn, then paying attention is the key, with computers I find a serious problem when I ask someone to aid me, in that they want to show me how good they are at it, and do it for me, rather than INSTRUCT me on it. That was not so with Simon.

Paul in Cayman, be sure that your welded assembly fits over the crank before you permanently attach the two together, and then get the open socket end turned to be square (less burrs) as the "lead in" will give you problems if you don't.

Hmm, know what you mean Clem.I find that when someone who purportedly knows how to do something on the pooter shows me, and themselves take 6 attempts, even they cant remember how they did it!😉

Vince ,
I got your intent  first time..never thought you were having a go..61 myself. ,not especially tech savvy either.  It was my reply that was clumsy... All good.!

Yep ,did all that ..thanks  for the thought. Nabbed the rattle gun from work..hoping to use it today.

I dunno what's so hard about posting pictures. Just use the "Attachment and other options" link below the dialogue box when you're writing a reply. They have to be under 300KB.
If your photo is too big, it's easy to re-size with Microsoft Office picture viewer (Open the photo in MS picture viewer, then click on: Picture, Resize)

I had a 996 SPS not so long ago. They are great bikes; for about an hour. Then one is in so much pain it's not that much fun after that. Also, there was something that felt unseemly about a middle aged man riding about on something so brightly coloured and with so many silly stickers on it. A friend once memorably described it as a "cry for help". In my case, I think he hit the nail on the head.

"unseemly about a middle aged man riding about on something so brightly coloured and with so many silly stickers on it"
Pretty much the only people who can afford and that I ever see on them, so pretty normal I reckon.

Haha.
Yes, some people just don't know how to age with dignity.
