It amazing what a $180 Russian SKS 30 Cal Pee Shooter can do and be accurate at 200 yards at 17 cents per round.

I do believe she shot more cost in ammo then the gun was worth - LOL
 
Sorry Ron, Australia, believe it or not, is not a gun obsessed country. If they were caught with a fully automatic firearm they would be in serious shit.
 
Terry: Canada and Australia have the same gun laws and SKS's are not on the Black List - All beholds the responsibly of the Gun Owner to abide by Gun Safety according to the Law of the Land.

I'm no gun advocate in regards to the outrageous American mentality concerning firearms and their interpretation of their 2nd Amendment. Living in Northern Canada with my Dad being a RCAF Warrant Officer I grew up with guns and know how dangerous guns are.

I'm sure you can buy a SKS 762X39 30 Cal Semi-Auto Rifle with a pinned mag locked to 5 rounds.

It was not my intent to demean but rather a Joke in respect for my Aussie Friends and the power you have.

Sadly guns do kill and no amount of legislation will prevent killing when in the hands of those determined to do so.
 
Negative, automatic and semi-automatic weapons are illegal in Oz, with the usual exceptions; police, military etc. Anyway, if you need a semi or fully automatic small arm, you must be a shit shot ::)

Just curious but how big of a Mag can you guys put in a Rim Fire 22 Cal Semi-Rifle or allowed to have a 3 shot Semi-12 Gauge shot gun?

You must be allowed to have a 3 shot 12 Gauge Pump or at least a 5 shot Pump, Lever or Bolt Rifle.

What are you saying that you can't own a 10 round Lever action Winchester 30-30 or a bolt  pump action with any more then 3 rounds?
 
That's right, the only civilians who need rifles are farmers and as far as I know only bolt or lever action rifles or normal shotguns.
No semi or automatic weapons of any kind except pistols used for target practice (could be wrong there).
Really the only shootigs we have with hand guns are crims who take each other out and I don't think that's a bad thing ;).
Didn't really like John Howard but he did Australia a great service banning those guns, RESPECT.
I'm rather glad that I live in a country where the population doesn't feel that they have to arm themselves to the teeth to defend the themselves against their fellow citizens. (ozflag)

Semi-auto firearms of any sort are not permitted, including .22 rimfire.
Pump-action shotguns are not permitted.
Handguns are not permitted.

Not sure about magazine capacities for bolt or lever action.

There may be exceptions to the above general rules for special purposes (competition target pistols for example) but the bureaucracy you have to wade through to get a permit probably discourages most people.

Fully understandable Chris. IMHO the topic isn't worth pursuing, I honestly cannot understand (or tolerate) the logic used by the pro gun mob.
