I was once allowed a test lap of the IOM TT course on a Yam RD350 power valve, the one with the full fairing, that was a factory Yamaha test fleet bike in the hands of a journalist for the TT, Yoshi something? he was also Japanese, but lived in the UK and wrote articles for Jap magazines that were not available bikes in japan itself, there was (at one time) an upper cc limit for Japan, was it 750cc ??, anyway he wanted to test TOG, so we swapped, and I loved that bike, much faster in almost every respect to TOG, maybe even top speed, I wasn't looking, at the clock much, but the journo also loved TOG, and I don't think he was being polite, he was grinning hugely, I did however leave him for dead, and this a bloke that rides ten different bikes a week, he later bought an RD for his personal transport, in and out of London from kent etc, but then again he weighed only about eight stone and was no taller than 5' 6"
