This weeks joke

The legislation against cocaine was largely a result of tabloid stories, as baseless as most tabloid stories are, concerning "coke crazed black men (another noun was used) raping white women".
Harrison Narcotics Tax Act legislation was adopted by the UK, in DORA, but, fortunately, despite it having been the thin end of the wedge which led, in the US, to Prohibition, drinkers, at least, were spared that stupidity, here.
Have a gander at the 1936 American movie "Reefer Madness". Designed to put people off the stuff but turned out to be great advertising.

Unless you have actually met someone and spent more than a fleeting minute with them then you can't make a real judgement of who they are and if they are a good / nice person or not. Reading someone else's opinion of someone is a sure fire way to get it wrong.
I had that problem at school, teachers expected me to be disruptive (I could be) most instantly jumped on me so they got me at my most disruptive, teachers who did not pre-judge got a very attentive and interested pupil.

I have met many famous people in my times at some of the biggest concourse shows in the World and spent considerable time with many, never pre-judged anyone and been surprised both ways that many people are totally the opposite than how you imagined.
I especially remember one female English actress who everyone imagines as a great laugh and lovely person being one of the biggest bitches I have ever witnessed and so far up her own arse I doubt she was able to shit for a year.
Another pop star I sat next to at dinner and who liked driving round the test track on Top Gear in the reasonably priced car, and came across as a good guy was in my opinion after meeting him, in the same class as the woman previously mentioned.
And another World champoinship F1 gentleman who was apparently known to be prickly being as kind as you could ever imagine.

Don't believe all you read. Forgive the pun :D

Can’t just leave it a non story- at least give us some clues !
I once built a bike for David Brabham, whilst talking he mentioned his bike insurance being astronomical “ because of who he was and what he did..”
“ Which is what I replied? Knowing full well. He pointed outside and there was his BMW with BMW racing David Brabham in huge white letters…”BRABHAM” I said pretending The penny had dropped..
” Didn’t your Dad own that garage in Surbiton?” 😂

Posted to Gatwick airport in the eighties as a uniform copper I boarded the transit system in company with a colleague who was nearing retirement. I spotted that George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley had also boarded. They came up to us and said " Are you here for us ? " My mate said " Why, who are you ? "
"We're Wham" George replied.
" What do you mean 'Wham' ? As in 'Wham Bam' ?

Fortunately we don't have to take anyones word for it - all you had to do to learn abou the human being is read the egotistic self-aggrandizing drivel he put in his Classic Bike column. I would assume most stories of how bad Phil Read was treated and how it obviously was someone elses fault when he lost a race to some talentless hack came directly from Phil Read.
