TT1 4 Hour Endurance racing

First chance to post, been rather busy!
Most important thing we win or lose as a team.
Big thanks to all the team Nikki and Rob Bradbury , Andy Peacock, Andy Jessop, and our missing 'Mr Fixer ' David George' who was truly missed.
Plenty of work to be done on the bike, that in the end ran faultless for the 4 hours, and dragged us round to finish 30th out of 42.
Current thinking of miss fire appears to come down to a failed trigger board, which must have taken Rob and myself something like 5 hours to find and sort Saturday afternoon , lucky well not really, because I carry loads of spares we had a replacement!
Once again WELL DONE TEAM you all deserve a medal, pure excitement.

Signing off from the ACE HOTEL Valence,
Andy

Jeez, what a roller coaster ride for you guys. Thanks for the commentary, cant think how you found the time! A respectable finish, all things considered. Here's to a straight forward, hassle free journey home.
Dave.

Great effort and finish for all of you. Bloody hard being so far away from the normal help zone. It must have been a fantastic atmosphere being there in the mix, and sorting the problems out to get to the flag. Applause!!!

This expedition isn't over yet. The three Andy's are stuck in Valence, France with a van that needs to be recovered because repairs are unlikely to last for the long (700+ mile) trip home. AA breakdown service aggregates its recoveries presumably to keep costs down. So it will be a minimum of 2 weeks for van, trailer plus it's valuable contents to get back home. Andy B is understandably reluctant about having his race bike left in transit compounds back through France.

The lads are exploring the possibility of one way van hire to at least get the trailer contents safely back to Calais.

Thats was racing is, often the trips to the race track are the bigger chalange. Important is that the race was fine but I hope you will find a good way home…

Back in UK ,thanks to Rob Bradbury for picking us from Calais. None of the ferries allowing foot passengers on!!!!!!! VERY BIG THANKS TO ROB.
Now await return of bike by AA, plus tools etc.
Good news. Still near Calais if you need anything within my scope.

Thanks Paul, big thanks, but decided to move without bring items back.

The journey to and from the event has been an night mare, at 0130 this morning we found out that none of the ferry companies where offering passage for foot passengers!!!!!!!!!!!

There are still all sorts of nonsensical covid rules in place.
