Upgrading 750 SF2 front brakes

I kept the splitter/ditched the hydraulic brake switch. The new Brembo master I am using has a built-in mechanical switch. Also added a bleeder to the splitter (as recommended by a forum member). HEL makes my favorite custom brake lines.

Why are you ditching the splitter? It won't haver anything to do with your wooden brake issue and you'll be losing your brake switch.
I'm ditching the splitter since it can accumulate air bubbles and 2 lines is a more direct path. Also, the existing Spiegler single line to the M/C is too short and doesn't allow the bars to be moved back closer in. The new Brembo M/C has a micro switch for the brake light.

I don't know their part numbers. This is Ebay ad copy from my purchase:

I’ve located a pair of new single nipple P2 F08 calipers however they don’t have threaded mounting holes.
I can these be used?
Do you just use longer bolts with a nut to fix them?
Helicoil them?

They can, at a push, but you'll find the single bleed ones a little trickier to bleed, unless you unbolt and manipulate the caliper.
Personally, I wouldn't helicoil them.
Timeserts would be my preferred option, in that situation.

Thanks for advice, what are timeserts?

To my knowledge unthreaded 08s can't be used if you're replacing threaded ones for Ceriani forks - on Marzos the (threaded) lugs on the forks are inboard; with Ceris the (unthreaded) lugs are outboard. So timersertig or helicoiling is pointless as the lug on the caliper will be 'outboard'. It's surprisingly difficult to describe!

The lugs on the calipers are actually in the same spot, Quentin. The fork lugs are either side of them.

Guess I'll repeat myself... again; Due to the opposite mounting position, the caliper lugs are squarely machined on opposite sides, ie, threaded calipers made for Ceriani-type mounts are machined on the outer face mated to the fork lug, the un-threaded type made for the Marzocchi-type fork mounts are machined on the inner face to keep things in line. The un-machined surface is how it came out of the casting mould and can be off by quite a bit, causing the caliper to cant in either axis without actually being able to be secured safely due to stresses arising in the mounting lugs.

Many will now claim theirs fitted perfectly, just lucky... or without the ability to recognise what could be wrong. I have needed to correct the spacing of many of these calipers to prevent new pads from binding or un-even wear.

You did a good job explaining it Q, oops and saved some $ and grief 😉

Apologies to Piet - I have a feeling I've made that claim once before and Piet has explained the actual diff. So you CAN actually buy the caliper, caveat being to check the fit and machine flats as nec.
