for Laverda cylinder head repairs without involving a Laverda professional,  you can go to Frank Anderson Racing engines, his number is +44 1761 472524. He does have a track record of doing these engines.This information was freely posted by Alan bell of Devon a few months ago.Thanks Alan.

Theres is in addition SEP in Kedgworth who I have never usede but I have heard that they are good at this as well and they ask for the cams and bearings to be supplied with the head so as to  (almost)  pre set the valve clearances their tel is  +44 1509 673295 

Personally I go to renowned WSB and BSB shop, HM Racing in Edenbridge, Tel: +44 1732 869920,  its a kind of consortium of motorcycle engineers, with varying shares of space and the business, Steve Smith does the engines. He can tell you and show you, some very interesting facts about 3 angle seats (now out of date incidentally) on triple cylinder heads , long since superseded by blended seats.

All are UK companies, in case you didn't spot the phone pre-fix.

I have available for loan (subject to standard conditions) a jig made from a scrap head, Much reduced in thickness, standard length studs and a 25mm ground tool steel base (hence the reduction in head thickness), for bolting head, cams and cam bearings together in order to set the clearances, should any one feel the need,

All the Laverda dealers have there traits, some are good at some stuff and not other stuff, and vice versa, it can take a long time to learn what is what, none of them are perfect, but aren't we lucky that there are so many businesses around helping us, and specialists, that produce non available items, for bikes that were out of production in 1987.

He has his own business Miguel, you will find him on facebook perhaps? I don't use it so I don't know. I sent him an email yesterday.

You get a lot of people with an attitude similar to what is being displayed here who are not trade qualified, and simply do not understand the intricacies of trade relationships built on trust and experience over long periods of time.
It only takes one wrong recommendation and the whole lot falls to pieces and you have to start again.

Tom, dam it you have hit the nail on the head here very well written, its called intellectual property.
Perhaps if some of these folk spent a bit more time using the search function and less time sitting behind their keyboards beating up stall-wards of this place then more of us would still be on here.

I've got over 45 years experience in the trade.. a lot of those years working and owning Laverda's and first hand seen some of the fuck ups from so called experts on Laverda head's. There a quite a few so called Laverda experts here in Australia who have buggered them up and then leave the poor owner no choice but to join the que for the real specialist here in Australia to sort it
Did you ever consider why there is such a long waiting list for this type of work but the few who actually know what they are doing.

So being in the trade can empathise with Grant, here is the scenerio, I recommended a good contact of mine to a club member... he mucked the guy around as he didn't want to listen to what was the right thing to do and  th0ought he knew better... then I go there to get something for myself and yep he kind of suggests that he would prefer that I dont bother to recommend folk like that  again.

Grant welcome to the long list of us who seldom come on here anymore due to all the naval gazers ... trust me spending more time on your Laverda's and enjoying them is way better therapy that being on here that is for dam sure.

And TC you keep pulling these guys into shape .......supposed to be the technical section but not much technical going on here... remind me to buy you a beer for your well chosen words.
