Wet Gloves

Until yesterday I’d have said waterproofs over gloves.
Only yesterday’s drenching I was on Beatrix my now not clean 3CL with Jota bars.
Everything is so wet I don’t think it would make any difference 😮‍💨
 
I always try and get my winter gloves over my sleeve - the old Dri-Rider jacket has a bulky cuff, so not that easy, but it does work. Same deal with summer gloves over my leathery. Makes perfect sense in terms of physics, if you will ... wind and rain can't travel backwards to get under the glove (unless you're crawling in cyclonic rain and the angle of your arm acts like a drainpipe!) - simple.
 
I would have thought so, but here is a little story. I tried the jacket sleeve over the glove at the start of a very wet day and for the first time ever I had dry hands. This was using a brand new pair of very expensive Danese Gortex winter-weight gloves I bought for a Tassie ride, the one with the Polar Vortex and exploding tree. It's a bit fiddly to do, so heading to Bellagin I got lazy and did it the way I have for 40 years, Glove over jacket. We got smashed hard, and apparently, the water was running down my arm into the glove and gortex once wet takes days to dry. One old set of gloves had 2 steeves. Somehow Houdini was supposed to get the glove inner sleeve inside the jacket cuff and the outer sleeve went over the jacket cuff. I guess you had to use your teeth to do that. Andy, it's a coin toss then. Guess who's getting lots of rain lately?

I’ve put my penny worth but will add that I find water runs down the arms of my jacket (which ever jacket) and fills gloves if jacket sleeves not over gloves.
 
Don't like long sleeve gloves, so very little choice, although I do think the short gloves tend to bunch up around the jacket end and form a sort of seal. Have never been bothered by even cold drafts making their way in.
 
under jacket if wet, sometimes Belstaff "over mits" only, (no gloves) but over jacket if dry, when wet, I dig out the heavy duty elastic bands and put one on each cuff as well.

I tried those Belstaff overmits once, I couldn't turn the throttle because of the waxing being slippery. I was fully sick of having cold black hands from washed-out glove dye.
 
Used Belstaff overmitts back in the 70s and over good gloves they were fantastic for keeping hands warm - don't recall riding in the wet but they would have also kept the rain out as well.
 
Actually depends on handlebar grip location in location to shoulders. Water runs down the arms at the back, out of the wind if your arms go down. I rarely ride my Laverda in the rain, and my other touring bikes my arms are level or just slightly down. I always put gloves over top of sleeves, hate cold wind going up

The new Space X suit looks amazing, so much more articulation. The helmets are even better with the full face exposed and used even for extravehicular events. Spacewalks.
