What did you do to or for or with your Laverda today?

Yep, catalyst is in a sealed capsule in the bottom of the can. They fill the can with the required paint and gas. When you want to use it push the plunger at the bottom of the can and rattle as per usual to ensure a thorough mix, then spray. Single use only though as once the catalyst is mixed with the paint it will go off. Bloody brilliant technology. And the spray nozzles are upgraded over the rubbish on the old aerosol cans and give cover similar to a low pressure spray gun. Saves a huge amount of cash as no compressor or spray equipment needed and you only buy the amount of paint, thinners and catalyst required for the job.

Fired the argy up tonight just make sure it was working OK and it wasn't, piss farting around and gunshots going off when revving it up. Checked there wasn't anyone with a camera around, whipped the tank off, sparklers out, set the sasche in test mode and sure enough 1  was misfiring constantly and 2 was missing half the time. Moved them around on the leads and it followed the plugs. Will get some new sparklers and some spares for the trip. Hope that's all that was wrong! Sorry, no photos.......

Put everything back on the SF1 as hope to be moving house soon and don't want to carry it in bits. It is running way rich though and will not pull past 3000, have to look at that but otherwise she is so sweet - think I will really enjoy that bike. :-) will post pictures when I can downsize them enough.

Thanks to Scrumpy, who put Brett and l in touch with Malcolm, l did a 320 mile round trip to Littlehampton, (make of that what you

will)and picked up a cico type fairing, sidepanels, mudguard, and tailpiece. l'll take Brett's bits to Malcolm Cox, who has a lot of

experience in packing and posting 'stuff' all over the world.l'm sure Brett will be pleased with his parts, they're in very good condition

though desperately in need of paint, thanks again Scrumpy, and thanks to Malcolm and his wife, who made me very welcome, now

     please go to 'Technical' section

Nearly finished wiring the race bike; only needs a pair of fittings on earth and plus wires to hook up battery.
It's a first for me, nearly a full rewire:
electric starter sysytem complete with relay and starter button. There wasn't a starter to start with :D
Rewired part of the ignition. Put fuses in the system, there weren't any and an on/off switch with a nice LED so as to know when it's on.
Passed the new harness through the spine of the frame; was a bit worried about that but was simple.

Have charged a battery, will hook it up next weekend and see what happens.

Then need to fabricate a lug to fix rear brake fluid reservoir. There's no reservoir at the moment, just a bit of tube, makes bleeding a hassle.
Lastly a bit of black paint on the exhaust, a bit of cleaning and start it before running in.
Would be nice to have it sorted by the end of the year!

Ciao
Paul
