What did you do to or for or with your Laverda today?

Oil change, screen clean, changed brake fluid in front brakes, even pushed the pistons in to clear them out, small amount of air but not much. Will be interesting to see if they still fade. Adjusted chain slightly although probably didn't need it, filled up chain oiler. Sorted out tools to take to Moto GP and back, just need to get a spare tube and we're off I think!

Good job Drikko.. prep for the 'Philip' trip always worthwhile. Many a good memory of that run.... (oops, time for a new thread..) (bolt)

Progressed a little on thinking about building a couple of race bikes - should be finished thinking in a few years ::) - Regards - Phil

Finished preping the workshop floor on Saturday  and started laying it on Sunday. Another decade and I will have a Motodd on the road.

Got the carbs sorted and took the bitch for a run up my local test road.
There is a 3 mile uphill straight before the mountain twisty bits start so that was a great test of the carb set up. 60mph in 3rd crack the throttle wide open pulls without hesitation and very strongly until it hits 5200rpm then it tries to rip your friggin arms off, rev it thru the fun zone to 7400rpm thru 4th and 5th then its a touch on the  brake for a left hand  100+mph sweeper leading up and into the mountains.  The next 12 miles keeping it in 3rd or 4th in the fun zone on the boil  and the Jota was flying stop at the local Sugar Loaf cafe and load up on coffee then turn around and repeat same this time going down hill. Thank you Mr Laverda,  Cheers Dave

and thank you the local road building designer, he must ride as well. That's a pretty impressive road, it looks like someone just painted the road on the dirt.

Hey Dave, still have many top memories of riding that road with you and J Clark on his BM scraping the heads. Got to be one of my all time fav roads. WA sucks shit for roads. Can understand why you never moved back!
Good to hear the jota is performing and being ridden like it should be.

Had a chat to some paint distributors about the disturbingly battle ship grey outcome of RAL 9006 in powdercoat. Need a bright light and a magnifying glass to pick out the metal flake.

New plan, scuff up the existing powdercoat with a scouring pad and use it as grey undercoat, paint with RAL 9006 basecoat then a couple of coats of 2 pack clear. Both paints conveniently packaged into aerosols and bloody cheap for the amount required as I don't need to buy a litre of each, nor catalyst, nor thinner. Get stuck into it this weekend.

Watched him mix the RAL 9006, looked like liquid silver, and fill the aerosols - bloody brilliant.

Be very interested how this turns out. Just had my frame powder coated and it looks very grey. Not too worried but if there is a simple solution.......................

Bought recently a 2 pack aerosol clear lacquer.

There is an activator button on the bottom of the spray can which releases one part of the lacquer into the other apparently. I haven't used it yet so no idea how effective it is.
