What did you do to or for or with your Laverda today?

Overhauled the starter sprag on my RGS. It had started making the odd noise/squeak last year . As knowledgeable folk know, ignore this at your peril! The usual battered springs & rollers, plus badly marked starter gear roller track, cracked collar and bashed cover plate. Replaced with new springs & rollers, plus other bits in better condition from my collection of used spares. Threw in an uprated SJCE starter for good measure and all now working well :)

Yes they sure cop a thrashing. I did mine last year at about 35000km and found damaged springs and rollers despite no negative symptoms. I’ll be checking it more regularly in the future!

650 km this weekend around Northern France over 3 days.
Corinne took her 500 which is at last working perfectly. Easy to start, light clutch, neutral easy to find with a working neutral light. Her in house mechanic is very pleased.

I took the Falcone for it's first long run. It performed faultlessly apart from the odd pop in the last 50 km. Probably a bit of muck in the carb, the bottom of the tank is full of rust. It started first kick, hot or cold. Used a bit of oil. A thorough once over and it'll be ready for the Milano Taranto 2024, for my 70 years, with Corinnes 500 in the accompanying category.

A great weekend.

What fixed the hard clutch?
Total recall.
Clutch dismantled. Burrs on the clutch drum and basket filed out.
There was of course the missing ball between the two rods.
Lifting mechanism greased, again, cable lubed, again, and adjustment screw on the lifting mechanism set just off 90°
