What did you do to or for or with your Laverda today?

Maybe B7s run hot enough to burn off the soot build up.
What compression ratio does your bike run?
Engine spec changes were common from the factory depending where they sold it originally (cams, compression, carb jets/needles and exhausts).
Running high comps at high revs for extended periods on B7s is asking a lot.

Jacques, You do need to check the plugs after it has been run under load. Idling/low speed riding will soot up the plugs largely because of the longer overlap of the Corsa cams diluting the mixture at low rpms. Sooty plugs aren't a problem unless a misfire develops. Depending on how hard the bike is ridden, a heat range warmer might solve your sooting issues. A range warmer will be unlikely to cause any issues unless you spend long periods of time at high revs/load or ride heavily loaded in blistering heat.
Firstly though, run it without the additive and see if that doesn't clean things up.

I also use 91 RoN in preference to 98. I found this was the single biggest factor in curing my sooted plugs problem, however, to be fair the Mirage runs at 8:1 compression.

well just getting my new 3c sorted, it had B9's in it when i picked the bike up it would not start, since i got it I put B8's in,I've taken the pod filters off ,put stock airbox on, took off the very restrictive stock collector, put a Jota collector and Jota mufflers on, jetting is 122 main 60 pilot K1 needle in the middle position, runs really good, but have to put some seat time on it to verify

That 60 sized pilot jet is also prettysmall. Mine are 65 standard, and I have a set of 62,5 ready.
Hope for less rain and more sun today after Work, so I can try it out.

Kind regards,
jacques

180 1000s run a smaller pilot jet compared to 120s.
55 is standard, sometimes a 60 works better.
Standard on 1200s is a 65.

Exactly Grant , the air around here is been very poor lately, high humidity, high temps, have not a lot of time on this bike yet , the jetting seems good for now.I have to get new tires as it still has tires that were put on in Breganze , they are still like new but won't trust them for any spirited riding.

Hmm.. Getting dark early after Work, so not so keen on speeding on the freeway and then turn off engine, and taking seat, tank etc. off on a dark motorway, with blind old people passing by, or a couple of speeding youngsters with a far too big turbo on their Corolla 1300.
So, having just taken a look at Things, it hit me: oh, I did change the spark plug caps a few years ago, to some with metal caps. Having no FLuke at the mo, because it's in my friends garage, measuring wires on his 1200TS, I jsut swapped them out for a fresh set if NGK SD5F 4,77 KOhm plug caps.
I did take the spark plugs out before, just to see how the sparks look. They are quite small and yellow.... ;(
So, after the spark plug caps freshly installed, I repeated that, and sparks are now bigger and brighter, not yellow. ;)
That is at least some progress.
They are not blue though.
So, I ordered a fresh set of ignition coils.
Will hopefully have a chance to testdrive tomorrow.

Kind regards,
Jacques

Today, I test rode the 'Best in Show' SF1 for Redax Laverda.
Perfect weather, no traffic and was a pleasure to clock up 100 miles on this magnificent Laverda motor-bicycle.
There is going to be one happy customer.  (thumbup)
