What's the FASTEST Motorcycle you have ever Mounted ?

  • Insurance company to skint 17 year old... Engine size?
  • 17 year old ... Err 850cc
  • Insurance company to skint 17 year old... Standard car?
  • 17 year old... Err completely

My little rustbucket - never pretty but feckin' quick. VERY happy days.

+1.
That's why I drive this when I'm not on the bike.
It gives me the thrill I look for while on the road, without having to travel at three figure speeds.
Since almost no-one feels threatened by it, you can hoon around without people getting upset, mostly.
On the rare occasion I've been pulled over, the conversation turns to their Mini memories, a finger gets wagged and I'm sent on my way.

Well, this may not apply to the "Ringmini" though:

It has already taught some wannabe speed drivers to better respect it ...
:D

Zx12R Coming back fromthe MIllau bridge (judt after it opened) Stretch of 4 lane brand new motorway clear to the horizon, a lane each and I saw the speedo off the clock reading over the stated top speed (Unrestricted bike) As soon as it wouldn't go any quicker I backed off, imagining the forks were about to snap. The startling thing was the closing speed on others in the adjacent lanes who had shut off earlier passing them goin ijn the same direction really teaches you about closing speed scarily dramatic. Not felt the need for such antics since. That was a long time ago now.

here you go the day of the above tale

Yamaha XJ650 Turbo !!!!!
I already had the naturally aspirated XJ650 shaft drive, which was a real honey and I loved it.

I took the Turbo version for a test ride, but found it much too top-heavy and clumsier than my bike, but boy was it a rocket ship when the turbo was on song, it was like a bloody missile, especially as the dealer had screwed the turbo waste gate shut, so boost was unlimited, which was a bit naughty.

In reality quicker than the ZX12R I was on about, a true 195MPH Alpina, B5 4.4 supercharged 498 BHP the figures and performance are astounding my best wolf in sheeps clothing. The tested performance figures for the B5 include a 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) acceleration time of 4.6 seconds, 0–161 km/h (0–100 mph) acceleration time of 9.5 seconds, 0–201 km/h (0–125 mph) acceleration time of 14.5 seconds and a top speedof 314 km/h (195 mph).

Late 1970s. 270kmh two-up on a stove-hot 750cc triple that averaged worse than 16mpg (quite often closer to 12pmg).
Fill up very 60 miles/100kms.
Bridge-ported engine, Dunstall full-fairing, triple expansion chambers. Pass mates on Z900s with throttles wound to the stop, girlfriend and I would wave and toot, and then I’d change up a gear and disappear.
They would return the favour and wave and toot when they passed the next filling station as I was refuelling. :)

All this on those skinny K-81s. Gulp.

I built this back in 2002...and it was very fast and what a handler.... hayabusa spondon 185mph and I couldn't stand the air pressure any more.....it was a fraction of the weight of a standard hayabusa....

Never that fast on mine, but man was it fun once I sorted out the suspension issues!

My sister had a Mini back in the day. I'd borrow it on occasions. It was a fun little car.
I've always thought a Mini Moke would be a fun vehicle to have, but never got around to acquiring one. They now change hands for crazy money so it looks like I missed my chance.
