Which begs the question, which bike for a lap around oz?

Not a well known Laverda model, its a 600cc 4 valve twin-cylinder motor with a couple of balance shafts and a 6-speed box in a single shock frame with a Maz 43mm long travel fork, 25-litre tank and a twin throat Delordo carby, flat and short like a Webber so the exhaust has room to pass under the carb, not so cleaver that bit. Laverda's version of a Dakar bike. About 400 made and not many in Oz. Now that I have talked it up probably more desirable, stupid me.
 
Heresy I know ... wasn't it a thing to load a Norton motor into an off-road frame for the Paris - Dakar (going back 20 or so years)?

As much as I love my Laverda I still have a lot of affection for the brit twin, but you couldn't register it in AU anyway.
 
Gaston was a freak he won the 125 250. and unlimited OZ mx Gps using his 125 at Amaroo in 1 day in appox 1975 against the best in ozo
 
and BMW mounted he did several Paris Dakars, when it was started in Paris and Finished in Dakar, the same years he competed on more or less the same bike at Le Toucquet (France) in the famous, 1200 bikes in a line start, Enduro on the beach, I was there having been dropped onto the beach by Moet and Chandon helicopter, (and collected later in the evening) they sponsored the event for a coupe of years, then it went downhill and has since flatlined.

I have a spare set of BMW panniers and rear bag with mounts which I?m sure you could adapt to your 120 Jota Marty.You Are welcome to use them when the time comes.
